Got a robo call saying it was HMRC accusing me of tax evasion and asking me to ring a different number. Total scam, no doubt. HMRC always sends letters, they don't leave these weird recorded threats.

I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s really something urgent, they’ll leave a message with their name and reason. This one was just some automated voice telling me to call back, which felt really dodgy. So yeah, straight to blocked from me.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be HMRC’s investigation team. I rang back to check and it was definitely a scam. Just a heads up, HMRC don't call like that so watch out. I’ve blocked the number now to be safe. Don’t fall for it!

HMRC dont normally call people, they usually send letters to your registered address first. Also, "lawsuit" isnt really a term used here in the UK, its more American. Plus, tax returns have to be submitted by 31 January, so these callers are probably just hoping to trick you into handing over your details.

I just received a call from a mobile number where the person was threatening me with jail time for tax evasion. They insisted I pay a sum immediately or they’d pass my details to the police to have me arrested. When I voiced concerns that it sounded like a scam, they got really defensive and told me to take my chances before suddenly hanging up. Proper cheeky behaviour if you ask me.

Seen all these remarks and blocked the number straight away. Got a dodgy email from HMRC as well. The tax year’s almost here - these nuisances just don’t give up! Proper pain in the neck!
