This was totally one of those dodgy automated calls pretending to be HMRC. You can tell it’s not just one recording, cos it jumps and stumbles, like bits were put together from different clips.

I didn’t pick up as the number was unknown to me. After checking the reviews on this site, I’m relieved I left it. It’s on my block list now.

This has all the hallmarks of an HMRC scam. They ring you up with a recorded message telling you to ring back on that same number. I thought it was dodgy straight away, and sure enough, the number starts with 073 which is actually a PREMIUM rate line! So not only are they after your cash by scamming you, but they're also charging a fortune for the call itself. From what I've found, calls to these numbers can cost anywhere from 8p to 40p a minute! Definitely don't return their call, even if you're tempted to try and mess with them, because you'll end up paying big time for it.

BE WARNED, DON’T RING THEM BACK - THEY'RE A CON! They hit my partner up saying he owed over £500,000 in unpaid tax for years back, like 2012 to 2014. Apparently they know your home address too and even claim to send official letters. We rang HMRC ourselves and found out it was a total fraud to grab personal info AND make you PAY by calling a premium number that charges about £1 every half minute. Seriously, steer clear and don’t get sucked in - it’s just a scam!

I got a call from this number but didn't pick up since it was unfamiliar. Later, I dialled it back thinking it might be the RSPCA or something important. To my surprise, a real person answered straight away, but it turned out to be HMRC? Yeah right, I’m not buying it. If this number rings you, just hang up - it’s definitely a scam!
