watch out for covid-19 scams! if you search for 'action fraud' and go to the police.uk website, there’s some helpful info on how to report these dodgy texts.

Got a text saying it was from the NHS, claiming everyone needs a Covid-19 booster to protect against Omicron and threatening a fine if you don’t get it. The message included a link get-nhs-pass dot com. This is definitely a scam. Real NHS texts always display “NHS” instead of a number, but this one didn’t. Also, the booster isn’t legally mandatory unless you work in certain jobs, so don’t be fooled by threats like that.

Got a text from 07306613144 saying someone added a new payee to my bank account. If you get this message from that number, best just delete it and don’t tap any links. Definitely a scam!

Got a dodgy text supposedly from Halifax saying someone added a new payee to my account, with a link included. I naively clicked it without thinking. Luckily, I’ve since updated all my login info. Just a heads up to watch out for these scams!
