Somebody called me saying I should get a covid test because I'd been near someone who caught it.

I've had a message come through from this number, purporting to be from the NHS Test and Trace team. It was trying to alarm me about possible exposure to someone with Covid, along with a dodgy link for ordering test kits. As someone who works within the NHS, I can confidently say this is not the real deal. Be cautious, everyone!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. The message said something about the NHS and COVID-19, saying I’d been near someone with a variant and needed to order a test kit from some website: nhs.delivery-testkit-gb.com/nhs. Seemed fishy to me, so I didn’t click anything. Looks like one of those scams trying to get people to go to dodgy sites.

On 21st June 2022, I got a text from this number saying I’d possibly been near someone who’s caught a Covid variant. The message had a link to order a test kit, but I wasn’t sure if it was legit so I didn’t do anything about it.

These scammers claim they're from Microsoft and try to convince you to let them access your computer remotely. Once they've got in, they'll attempt to steal your banking info. Best to just hang up and not engage with them at all.
