7 yearsAbout Solutions Infosoft over in West Brisbane - those blokes Tom Parker and Dean Watson are an absolute joke. Honestly, they’re nothing but dishonest scammers. We're in Australia, not some dodgy third world place! How come these fraudsters are still up and running without any consequences??? Ridiculous!Solutions InfosoftWest BrisbaneTom ParkerDean WatsonAustralia7 yearsGot a call from someone named Charles Brown claiming to be from Windows. He told me to press the ctrl and windows keys together. I asked for his phone number and he said it was 0730409898 and gave a work ID of 11541327. I ended the call, then a bit later, another call came through from 0249573912, which I checked, and it’s listed as a scam as well. Didn’t get any voicemail from either number.Charles Brown8 yearsThese scammers have been pestering me with nonstop calls. Every time I hang up, they come right back calling again. I'm thinking of getting a phone that actually shows who's calling so I can figure out who these people are. They claimed to be from Microsoft, saying there was some severe security flaw with my phone line. They even tried to say I owed them money for their 'services' and threatened legal action if I didn’t pay. I managed to get them to send a letter through the post - apparently it’ll have a statutory declaration I need to sign if I didn't authorise any work from them. Expecting it to turn up tomorrow. Not sure if I should get a solicitor involved just to be safe? They were oddly open about giving me their number, 0730409898. Seems like they’re not the brightest bunch.Microsoft8 yearsSome bloke said he was with Windows, no problem giving me his number straight away.8 yearsNo way that's Michael Jack Anderson, sounded like some bloke from India if you ask me. Might as well have said he's Michael Jackson for all the truth in it. Seems like he's just hanging around, hoping the real owner of our PC will ring him up. Yeah, right, that's not gonna happen.Michael Jack AndersonMichael Jackson8 yearsGot a call from the same bloke again, but this time he said his name was Benjamin.Benjamin9 yearsGot a call from an Indian-sounding bloke again, this time claiming there was an issue with my Windows 10. I told him none of my devices actually run Windows 10 - usually, I just say I’ve got a couple to throw them off. Suddenly, that became the exact problem. I told him I had to hang up and promised I’d call Microsoft back and ask for him. He said that wouldn’t work, but I insisted since it was the same company, they’d have to connect me to him. Then he gave me a number to dial once I got back, and asked me to ask for him by name - wait for it - Charles Wilson. Quite the Indian name, right?MicrosoftCharles Wilson9 yearsI kept this bloke from India chatting for nearly 45 minutes, he claimed to be from Microsoft Support because I’d supposedly got an issue. When he asked for my card details, I told him I’d send a cheque instead. After a few rounds of arguing, he actually agreed I could post it to 624 Chelsea Crescent, Minyama, QLD 4575. But Google Maps shows no such number 624 there. The email he used was [email protected]. He also gave me some other phone numbers: 61872000010, 0730409898, and 0898871188 - the last one’s a Perth-area number, so definitely a forwarded call. The fact he had the postcode on hand tells me he’s got mates in Chelsea Crescent or something. I reckon they’ll try calling me again soon, cos they already have, so I’ll keep wasting their time. Heads up - he tried to get me to log in to www.anydesk.com and www.150.co.il, both total scams!MicrosoftChelseaCresMinyamaQueenslandAustraliaGoogleMapsPerthChelsea Cres9 yearsHeads up, got a call from someone saying they're from "windows help" - total scam, watch out for it!9 yearsHad a call where they had me messing about on my computer, then suddenly tried pushing some stuff to buy. Proper dodgy!9 yearsI got a random call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from "Windows." I told her I wasn’t buying it and asked for a phone number. She gave a number that’s meant to be from Queensland, but I reckon the calls are actually getting routed to call centres in India or Bangladesh. Loads of these calls keep coming through. They always have this awkward five-second silence at the start, probably when they're connecting overseas. I can speak Bengali fluently, so when I reply in Bengali, they often answer back in the same language and sound pretty shocked. I usually tell them to quit the nonsense and find a proper job.QueenslandIndiaBangladesh9 yearsIf you're ever feeling a bit bored this might be a laugh, although that doesn't happen to me very often. They also tried using the ABN number 93609884915. When I mentioned that the Fed cops could easily trace their call since they stayed on the line too long, they just dropped the call straight away. Wasn't expecting that at all, made me chuckle a bit, haha!9 yearsIt’s kinda fun to mess around with when I’m bored, which isn’t super often tho...9 yearsI got a call from someone who spoke with an Indian accent, claiming to be from the Windows support team. I played along for nearly 4 minutes before he got annoyed and started swearing at me. That was the moment I knew it was a scam because no proper professional would behave like that with a client. I then asked for his phone number to call back, and he gave it to me. Of course, when I looked it up online, I ended up here reading loads of complaints about this exact number.Windows Technical Department9 yearsHeads up - got several calls from people pretending to be from Windows, saying there’s something wrong with my computer. Also, I’ve had what sounds like Telstra folks ringing me about my computer a few times over the last couple of weeks. Pretty sure it’s all just scams.9 yearsGot a call saying my computer was throwing up error messages and that he could sort it out. I played along for about 15 minutes after telling him I needed to grab the PC. Then I hung up. He called again, my missus answered and told him to turn to Christianity before it’s too late. He kept going regardless. In the end, she hung up, annoyed that we were wasting his time.10 yearsThanks a lot for the heads up about these scams, otherwise I might’ve ended up with a bricked laptop. A woman called me, said her name was Jennifer Willson and she spoke with an Indian accent. When I asked for her number, she gave me one that matched the one showing up, and another very close to it. But both were blocked when I tried calling back.Jennifer Willson10 yearsAbsolute bunch of rip off scammers, obv trying to con people out of their money. Stay well away from them!10 yearsWatch out, these lot are not to be trusted! They ring up claiming your PC's infected and get you to follow steps to "fix" it. Next thing you know, your computer's frozen solid and they try to charge you for the password to unlock it. Total con!Submit Your Own Report (730409898)
