I got a call from a number I didn’t know and when I picked up, there was this automated voice saying it was HMRC. They said I owed tax and that there was a court order coming unless I did what they said in the message. I just ended the call and will block the number straight away. I’m pretty sure HMRC wouldn’t threaten people like that over the phone, so it’s definitely a scam. It’s worrying though, as someone less careful might fall for it. Hopefully, something can be done to stop these calls.
