My lad’s at uni and only does a bit of casual work, earning way under the Personal Allowance for 2024/25, so he was a bit thrown when this number called him claiming to be from HMRC, but it was some sort of "AI". It didn’t even bother using his name. They went on about not replying to a letter and that some kind of action would follow. This is the second time he’s had a call like this, and obviously he’s never received any letter - no letters ever turn up from HMRC without proper post anyway.
