I got a call from some automated voice claiming to be the national crime agency, saying they were gonna suspend my national insurance number. I just hung up immediately because it didn’t make sense - why would the national crime agency be messing with my NI number? Shouldn’t that be something the tax office handles? Plus, I never got any emails or official messages from any government department about it, so it felt dodgy to me.
