I received a call earlier from someone purporting to be from BT, claiming there was an issue with my broadband connection. They insisted that a technician would ring me shortly to sort it out. However, once I mentioned that I was actually with Sky, they promptly ended the call. It’s evident that this was just a scam attempt!

Somebody rang me saying they were from "BT" and started rambling on about issues with my internet router. Their English was shocking - I’m pretty good at understanding accents but could barely catch half of what they said. I decided to humour them for about ten minutes (no harm done - they couldn’t be scamming anyone while I was chatting), then told them straight up I knew it was a con and told them to get lost.
