Got a call from 070 2787 8500, they kept ringing and sounded similar to other 070 numbers I’ve seen. The person said my national insurance number was involved in some fraud over in Wales and told me to press 1 or else I’d face consequences. Feels dodgy to me.

Somebody called claiming to be from HMRC but was super nasty on the phone, definitely not professional at all. They said I owed £1900 for tax fraud and if I didn’t pay up, the police would come and take me straight to court 😂

WATCH OUT!!! I didn’t pick up since the number looked unfamiliar, was planning to just let it ring out but accidentally pressed it on my phone & it started calling. I ended it straight away but still got charged 48p for just 6 seconds!!!

This number rang me a couple times, dropped the call before I could pick up the first time and I just answered straight away the next. From what I’ve read on some forums and block lists, it’s linked to an Indian call centre and flagged as a 'premium rate' if you ring back. I've blocked it now, and I'd advise anyone else who gets calls from this number to do the same.

If you try calling the number again, the call either cuts off right away or you get a busy signal, but still get charged. I've even come across a message saying the line's faulty, pushing you to ring back and end up getting billed twice.
