I got a call from some Indian company claiming there’d been a car accident involving me, but it was just a scam trying to trick me out of money. Watch out, they’re definitely trying to pull a fast one.

Got a call claiming to be from some insurance company, saying I’d been in an accident and they could sort out some compensation for me. Then the line just went dead. They rang again twice after that but I didn’t bother answering.

As soon as I put up my ad on Gumtree, I got a call almost straight away. It was a woman speaking with a heavy Indian accent, telling me there’d been a small car accident involving me. I didn’t even finish the convo before she abruptly ended the call, and the number was blocked after that!

After putting up an ad on Gumtree, I got a call from some bloke claiming to be with the “Motor Insurance Bureau.” He spoke with a strong Indian accent, but I wasn’t having any of it and told him off with some not-so-pleasant words before he disconnected. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this after posting on Gumtree. The funny part? I don’t even own a driving licence!

I answered about some accident. I asked, “Which one are you talking about? I’ve had 3!” He sounded puzzled and then just ended the call!

Put up an ad on Gumtree and got a call from an 070 number. Didn’t pick up since I’ve read elsewhere those numbers are dodgy. Absolute muppets.

Honestly, I can’t recall the crash I was in, probably because I got amnesia from it or something... Bloody idiots!

Got a call from someone who’s obviously not a native speaker, saying something like “I’m from an insurance office about a small accident you were in, you recall right?” I told them straight up I don’t remember anything like that and demanded they remove my phone from their list. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Right after I’d blocked the number, they tried again but this time sent me a message about a “free iPhone X” which I wasn't able to block or flag. It showed up as TRACK PARCEL on my phone. The worst part is, the number they used pretended to be from UPS but it was totally fake. Absolute SCAMMERS!
