Since the person on the other end couldn’t get past the blocker, I went ahead and added the number to my block list. Honestly, I consider all these mystery calls to be pretty dodgy and risky.

Just received an automated voicemail claiming to be from the BT tech team. Since I screen all my calls, it just went straight to voicemail. I really want to advise elderly folks or anyone vulnerable to make sure they have an answerphone and some kind of call blocker. If you do what they say and press 1, you might end up with tons of problems and even face hefty charges on your phone bill. I've blocked the number now, just to be safe.
