Got a call from 07011774155 last week, said they were Silvercrest Ltd, linked to Solartherm UK. When I tried to call back, Talk Talk gave a warning that it might cost up to £3 per minute, so I just hung up.

First things first, DO NOT RING BACK!! The bloke coughed and said 'hello', I coughed back and said 'hello' too, then he just hung up! Obviously no sense of humour. I was already certain it was a cold call when I saw the number on my screen since I get them all the time. Thought about calling to find out who he was and maybe have a word about his phone manners but realised it costs a bomb to ring back. If you are with TalkTalk, you can block the last caller by dialling 1248. It reads the last number back and if you want to block it, just hit the star key twice.

I got t####er on my phone and this number still manages to ring me, but when I answer, there’s nobody there. Looks like it’s not actually a UK mobile, probably some kind of forwarded number - best not to ring it back.

Somebody rang me saying they were from the Government or 'Energy Care' or whatever, wanting to check on the warranty for my Solar panels. Certainly sounded dodgy, so I cut them off and ended the call straight away.

I just picked up a call from this number. They said my name and asked for me or my husband, but when I said it was me, there was nothing but silence. I could hear a phone ringing in the back and then the call suddenly ended. Why bother asking for me by name if they’re just gonna drop the call?

Got a call from some Craig at Silver Crest Group. When I asked what he wanted, he said they’re the service centre for my solar panels and then just ended the call. Looks like he expected me to ring him back!

Im on the TPS list but still get calls from numbers like this all the time. I cant make an official complaint tho coz I dont know who they are or where they’re based. Seems wrong to me - if you can register a phone number, you should have to give your name and address surely.

Got two calls from this number on 10th August. I didn’t pick up, but thought it might be something important I was waiting for. So I called back, but all I got was silence. Now it’s appeared on my phone bill as £1.00 charge! Seems like a total rip-off to me!

So, "The Energy Care Department" called me wanting to chat about renewable energy. When I asked what company or organisation they actually were, the person just said "that's who we are". Not sure if I just wasted a good chance or not, but I ended up hanging up (guilty as charged!). The UK caller was polite but definitely a bit pushy and clearly fishing for info.
