How many poor folks are gonna fall for this nonsense before someone does something? Just like a lot of others here, I got two calls, one from a guy and the other from a woman, both sounded Indian and said they were from Sky about a refund of £202. They wanted me to verify my info, then when I asked what else they needed, the bloke mentioned my card info. I told them they’re complete liars and ended the call straight away, then rang Sky to let them know. I looked up the number on Google and it showed as coming from Puri, India.

Funny thing is, we actually run a TV production biz and if anyone’s owed cash, it’s us - probably way more than £202. Plus, Sky’s got all the paperwork to prove it!

Tonight I got a call from 06752984632 and the lady on the line had an Indian accent, sounded really convincing. I gave her my mum’s maiden name and my DOB at first, but then she started asking for my bank details to supposedly send a £202 refund. That’s when I got a bit wary and told her I’d get in touch with Sky directly. Pretty obvious it was a scam, so I reported it to Cyber Fraud. They didn’t seem to have heard of it before, but fingers crossed if more folks report it, something will be done about these scammers.

Just like a few others here, this bloke called claiming to be from Sky, talking about giving me a £200 refund. He already had my name and address, but then asked for my date of birth. I told him I was born on the 38th of Mumbai in the year of Zoldan, and my bank details were from Toytown, and I work for Big Ears and Noddy. Thought he might hang up after that, and sure enough, he did! You don’t wanna mess with them lot, that’s for sure.

This one’s just like the others I've been getting. They rang me loads in summer but then it stopped, now looks like they've started again. Annoyingly, my phone won’t recognise the number so I can’t block it properly. I had to check by calling 1471, so it seems they’re sneaking past the normal blocking methods somehow.

As I was in the process of receiving a refund of over £200, an Indian lady identified herself as being from Sky. She proceeded to request my date of birth. I reminded her that if she truly was calling from Sky, she should already possess that information. She countered by confidently confirming my correct address. I then informed her that I am not responsible for managing that particular bill, thus suggesting that she should reach out at a later time. Perhaps I will see if she does indeed call back and simply use up some of her time. She can be certain that she won't obtain any personal details from me.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, I'm supposed to get £202 back from Sky. The caller had loads of my info, like my bank and address and all that. They were able to say my name, where I live, the bank that my Sky payments are taken from, and even the sort code plus the first few numbers of my account. When I told them I'd call Sky directly to sort things out first, the person on the phone said she'd connect me to her manager. I ended the call to verify their number, and just as I was doing that, they rang me back. I just ignored it.

I made four attempts in a single day to waste a scammer's time with an Indian accent. I pretended to be seeking a refund from Sky and managed to keep him engaged for around 20 minutes. In a humorous tone, I complained about the rain and declared that I deserved a refund. When he asked for my date of birth, I cheekily replied with "02/02/1868" and he surprisingly agreed that it was correct. To push the joke further, he requested my card expiry date, and it took him a while to realize that I was messing with him. Although I was actually a Virgin customer, not with Sky, those 20 minutes were satisfying knowing that he wasn't able to scam anyone else during that time.

Despicable individuals with no moral standards stoop even lower than a snake's underbelly. Letting them blabber on, I provided them with phony numbers, just to amuse myself. I then mocked them, saying that if they managed to obtain any money from that card, they must be magicians like Houdini. I chuckled incessantly until they eventually ended the call. Surprisingly, she confirmed that the DOB was "correct." She then proceeded to request some information about my Debit Card. But, when I checked the 1471 Service, it displayed a different phone number - 06752 984 632.
