Some lady with a foreign accent called, saying she was from British Telecom and claimed there was an issue with my internet. I told her that I’m with Virgin Media, not BT. She insisted that all UK internet providers link to BT servers. Then she asked about the lights on my router and asked me to switch on my computer. I said I was busy and would call back if she gave me her contact details and name. She gave me the number 01115888672 and said her name was Susan Smith. I’m definitely not bothering to call her back.

Some bloke rang saying he was from BT, so I told him I was the Archbishop of Canterbury. When he kept pressing, he got really nasty. I kinda enjoy messing about with these scammers, just to watch them lose their cool and get all threatening! Honestly, the telcos should just block calls from India or Pakistan, or stop sending them aid - maybe if they had a bit less support, they’d bother me a lot less.

Got a call from this number earlier today, some lady with an Indian accent trying to say there was an issue with my internet and asking for my passwords. I wasn’t having any of it and just told her to buzz off. She threatened to cut off our internet and phone, so I just hung up. Then I phoned BT myself and they confirmed it’s definitely a scam!

Got a voicemail on the answerphone, sounded like it was recorded by someone with an American accent. The beginning was all jumbled up, but it clearly asked for a return call. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam, and this is actually the third time they’ve left that same message!

Still, the number showed up on the screen, which was a bit odd. I guessed it must be a blocked or spam number, but figured I’d check it out online. Just like others mentioned, I got two silent voicemails yesterday and then this morning, a woman called with what sounded like an Indian accent saying she was from BT tech support. I told her I didn’t have any BT service, and she insisted BT manages internet all over the UK. I politely ended the call. I’m convinced it’s the same scam as those “Microsoft support” calls a while back - they just wanna get into your computer. I’ve flagged the number as ‘dangerous’ cos they’re definitely after your cash. Such a hassle!

Got a call at 09:58 but no answer when I picked up. They rang me back at 10:51, and this lady with an Asian or Japanese accent said she was from BT, saying my internet was having issues. She asked if I was the primary user of the internet at home. I told her I wasn’t sure how much the others were online! For security, I asked her to give me my IP address, and then she said she’d put me on hold - that’s when I just hung up. Little did she know, I don’t even use BT! These calls are such a pain!

Some bloke called claiming he was from BT, saying my broadband got hacked or something. He reckoned the router was the issue. When I asked him to send a replacement router, he said that wouldn’t fix it. Then he said he’d cut off my broadband. I told him to do it, no bother. Sky’s cheaper anyway, so that would make switching easier. I’ve been with BT for over four decades, and honestly, all they do is keep hiking the prices.

got a call at 2:20 pm, picked up and there was no one actually there. instead, i heard lots of noise and lots of voices with all sorts of accents chatting away for about a minute and a half before it just hung up on me.
