Got a call asking if I’d been in any crashes lately. When I questioned how they got my mobile number, they just said not to worry, they had a whole list of numbers from my area and were ringing everyone. I’m not convinced, especially since it’s my mobile and it’s signed up with the TPS. Ended up just hanging up on the bloke. Sounded like it came from a call centre and he spoke with an Asian accent.

Got a call today 24/3/17 at 14:36. I didn’t pick up since I never answer calls from unknown numbers. The person said, "Hello, this is Joan from the Roads & Traffic Authority," but she had a strong Indian accent and I could hear loads of call centre noise in the background. When I asked her to repeat herself, she just hung up. Definitely a scammer, so I’ve blocked the number.

I ignored the call on my phone and after checking the reviews here, I decided to block the number. They didn’t leave any voicemail.

They claimed to be calling from AAB Legal and said they’d got my info from the ‘Road Traffic Authority’ (which sounded dodgy). At first, they said it was a survey. When I pressed for more info, they said they were trying to assist people who hadn’t received full compensation, but I told them I’d already been compensated and asked why they had my number since I’m signed up to the TPS. After that, they just said thanks and ended the call. Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

A woman rang me saying she was with road traffic control and wanted to do a survey. I said no thanks quite nicely. Then I asked how she got my number since it’s a personal line only for family and close mates. Told her to please take my number off her list as I don’t want any random calls and then ended the call.
