I got a call from someone asking me to verify if my email was "still current" so he could send over a free report about which asset classes might double this year. Bit of a cheek, considering I'm a financial adviser!

They called saying they were from "APB Lending" and asked if I could spare "a couple of minutes". I told them no thanks. Oddly, they knew my name even though I’ve never had anything to do with them. Now I’m kicking myself for not telling them to delete my info from their records.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was with APB, trying to pitch some investment plans. Ended up blocking the number straight away.

Got a call from some bloke called Jason who said he was with ABB London dealing in precious metals. I told him straight away my number is on the TPS and MPS lists, so he’s calling illegally. Then he rang me again and said it was just a marketing thing and asked if I’d share my personal number. I told him once more that my number’s on the MPS, he should take it off his list, and that what he’s doing is against the law. I’ve now blocked him completely.

Got a missed call from this number, tried ringing back but it said it wasn’t included in my plan. Looked it up here to be safe. Gonna block it now. Cheers to everyone who’s shared info on this, stay safe out there!

Got a call from this Indian woman after she rang twice, I picked up on the third try. She was asking for someone named John. Told her I wasn’t who she wanted and she just said oh sorry wrong number and ended the call straight away.

They actually used my name right away and kicked off by chatting about some Covid-19 research. Soon enough, they switched over to asking about my finances. When they wanted my email, I wasn’t having any of that. They claimed they found my phone number on some ‘online database’. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

In less than 20 minutes, I had about 17 missed calls from this number. Ignored them at first, but then they rang a few more times so I picked up. Some bloke claiming to be from Premiere Building Solutions - something to do with investment in big property projects - tried to pitch me. When I said no thanks, he called me an idiot and just ended the call. Proper cheeky if you ask me!
