Received a call purporting to be from "Microsoft Corporation," inquiring about the state of my computer. The accent was distinctly Asian, yet interspersed with a (rather dubious) American twang. They promptly ended the conversation when I erupted into fits of laughter, which was unfortunate as I hadn’t the chance to request a chat with Bill Gates himself. The number 0551 appears to trace back to Göttingen in Germany. Given the nature of the inquiry regarding my computer, it was fairly obvious this was heading down the route of a dodgy line and a supposed "service" to rectify issues, no doubt involving me divulging all my security credentials and passwords. Quite the cheeky attempt!
