Yesterday, this number rang me twice, once around 11:14 in the morning and then again at 3:44 in the afternoon. They called back this morning at 9:33, so I finally picked up. The person said they were from "Consumer Care," told me the call was being recorded, and started talking about a firm called "Real Insurance" which they said was advertised on TV. They wanted to check if I had any life or death insurance. I ended the call pretty quickly since I never agreed to them having my number to begin with.

Just got a call around 11 this morning from a woman claiming to be with 'national consumers'. She started off asking how I was, and I said fine, thanks. Then she commented on how cheerful I sounded and asked if I was off work today. I told her no, I was actually at work. She quickly said, "Alright, no problem, I'll ring you another time" and then hung up straight away. It felt a bit odd, especially since when I said I wasn't at home, she seemed eager to end the call fast. When I tried ringing the number back, it just cut off immediately with no dial tone at all. Strange behaviour for sure.
