An untrustworthy bloke from India rang me up, claiming my computer was infected with a virus. Definitely a scam, if you ask me!

I ignored the call at first, but when I dialled the number back on my mobile, turns out it was some sort of Microsoft scam.

Saw some reviews and decided not to pick up. Just went ahead and blocked the number.

Got a ring around midday from someone saying my Windows was running really slow. I just played along, even though it wasn’t true at all. He wanted to know if I was near my PC and told me to switch it on. I said I wasn’t home and asked when he’d call again. He kept going on about some terrible virus that’d leave me stuck without my computer. I’m sure you can guess, I wasn’t buying it and ended the call straight away.

Some bloke started with the typical Microsoft nonsense, so I just told him to piss off.

I just let it ring and then ended the call, but after going through all these comments, I’m really thankful and a lot more cautious now.

Got two calls earlier from someone claiming my laptop or Windows PC was having issues. Definitely a scam, especially for pensioners or folks not that tech-savvy. Be careful and never let anyone on the phone get into your computer or ask for personal info or passwords. When I said I work for Microsoft, they ended the call right away. Don't fall for it!

Got a call from someone talking about an issue with my computer. I asked "what computer?" and they replied "a Windows computer." I told them I don’t own a Windows computer and then they hung up. Honestly, I do have a Windows machine, but I could tell right away it was just a scam.

As a retired person, I really appreciate having something like this to help me avoid those annoying scammers. It's brilliant!

Got a call I couldn't pick up, not sure he got what he wanted this time. Fingers crossed he'll try again tomorrow.

I got a call and told them I don’t use Windows. The guy then started telling me to switch on my computer. I quickly said I’m not gonna fall for some scam, and he just swore at me and hung up. Lovely behaviour!

I called back but no reply, they just ended the call straight away.

I called this person out for trying to scam me, and then they actually called me back just to shout abuse down the phone. Proper scammer, that one.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming there was an issue with my Windows on the laptop. They said they’d tracked my phone number through it or something. Seriously, don’t switch on your laptop if this happens and just end the call immediately.

This number's been ringing me up at least thrice today - 21/07/16 - claiming there’s something wrong with my brand new laptop I got just a few days back. First time I wasn't able to chat cause I was tied up with work, but I’m sure it’s some sort of con. So when they phoned again an hour later, I made it clear I wasn't interested. Just now, about 15 minutes ago, they rang for a third time and I told them off pretty firmly. Fingers crossed they’ll get the hint now.

No voicemail was left which always makes me a bit suspicious when that happens. I tend to be cautious about calls like that.

My landline rang but they didn’t leave any voicemail. Lately, loads of calls come in every day with folks telling me to switch on my computer, claiming they’re from Windows. The weird thing is, they all have a strong foreign accent. Honestly, don’t trust anyone who tells you to do that!

They didn’t even bother to leave a message.

They said there was an issue with my computer, but it really felt like a scam to me.

They were trying to get my personal details, which seems very dodgy to me. I’ve had my computer hacked once before after falling for a phone scam like this, so I’d reckon it’s best to steer well clear. If you did share any passwords or stuff, make sure to change them straight away. It’s definitely not worth the risk.
