He started by asking if I was Mrs something, so I flipped it back on him and asked who was even asking. Then he muttered something about me still having my washing machine and that he was from some kinda insurance company, but I didn’t catch the name properly. When I asked him what he wanted me to do with a washing machine other than use it, he just hung up on me. Honestly, whenever someone calls asking if you’re a certain person, don’t just say yes straight away - best to find out who they really are first.

Had a bloke ring me up, introducing himself as “Tony” - yeah, right, as if that’s his real name, mate! He was going on about my washing machine, saying that we were paying £9 for some sort of extended warranty and that he could lower it while offering “better service” or whatever. Total nonsense, we don’t pay for any extended warranty! Our Bosch machine is solid, been going strong for ages - exactly why we chose it in the first place. Let him prattle on for a bit since I was a bit bored, then I just ended the call. Proper scam attempt if you ask me.

Every time, I receive a call with an Asian-sounding voice asking for me by name. They then proceed to share my personal details such as my postcode. Now, I simply hand the phone over to my partner who, upon hearing another man's voice, understands that he has to deal with another male and promptly hangs up. My partner's solution is to temporarily turn off our router, convinced that the caller may be after something other than credit card details. Perhaps they are trying to trick us into giving them free access to our internet. Although my partner is unsure about their true intentions, he believes it's better to be safe than sorry considering the vast array of technology scams and dishonest individuals lurking these days. Ultimately, we both agree that this persistent caller is nothing but a nuisance.

Received a phone call from an individual with an Indian accent who claimed that I am still being charged £9.89 each month for insurance and repair of my washing machine. This couldn't be further from the truth. I thoroughly reviewed my bank statements and I'm fully aware of where my money is being allocated. Furthermore, modern washing machines are designed in a way that prevents easy repairs and they are often sealed, eliminating the need for a specific repair person. In light of these facts, I promptly ended the call after enlightening the caller about their mistaken assumption and identifying them as a scammer.
