Sounds like one of those ghost broking scams to me. Loads of these scammers have been jailed lately for doing the same thing. They offer you cheap insurance over the phone or social media, supposedly through a legit insurer, but the details are all wrong, so your policy ends up worthless and you’re left uninsured. Make sure you report any calls like this to the police.uk Action Fraud site and use their online guides to report phishing. Don’t just hope someone else will do it.
