I've been getting calls from them at the weirdest times, like weekends and even on bank holidays. It's honestly so frustrating dealing with these fraudsters. I reckon they record what we say when they ask questions and then edit bits of my actual voice together to set up accounts or trick people into handing over money or goods. It's just so annoying!

Someone called saying they were from a survey group and wanted to ask about travelling habits. The questions felt a bit off, jumping right into personal details like exact age instead of the usual age brackets. They then asked for my suburb, which I wasn't comfortable sharing so just gave the city. After that, the caller started getting quite insistent, so I ended the call pretty quickly.

From what others have said, it looks like a call centre, probably somewhere in Asia, but they spoof a Melbourne number and pretend to be from the government or the tax office.

Honestly, just block that number straight away. The Do Not Call list doesn’t stop calls from charities, politics, surveys or schools. I’m sure there’s a few others too. They often use these random auto-diallers so the best bet’s to simply block them.

Just a heads up, NWC Research rings through an automatic dialer. Even if you’ve signed up for the Do Not Call Register, it won’t stop these survey firms from contacting you.

This number rings me around four or five times weekly, but the caller just hangs up as soon as I pick up. No idea what they’re getting at, but it’s definitely not helping anyone. We just ignore the calls now, yet the nuisance keeps going on, messing with our calm. It seems to be linked to Melbourne, which baffles me since why would they bother ringing Queensland? Maybe it’s some dodgy contract scam where they count every call as a potential customer and cash in from some unlucky person.

Upon further investigation, it seems this number belongs to NWC Research based in Melbourne, and their contact number is 0399355700. Perhaps it would be wise to return the favour and hang up on them each day as well!

This number rang me twice, on the 8th and 10th of June 2016. It was a lady saying she was calling from the Australian government, doing some kind of travel survey. Honestly, it sounded pretty legit and I ended up believing her. I’m not sure if anything bad came out of it but I really wish I’d found this website before I picked up on the 10th. I got a call from that 03 number while I was on the road and honestly, no idea who it could be. Proper annoying it was, so I just ended the call straight away and blocked them. Every evening, around 5:30 to 6:30, our phone gets a ring from this number. We haven’t picked up in about half a year now, just let it go to voicemail, but the calls keep coming exactly the same time each night. It’s really getting on my nerves!!

It appears that these individuals are quite adept at probing for information. They've somehow managed to tap into our DSL line frequency and started interrogating my wife while we were busy handling our banking affairs. The Fortigate 9000 promptly shut down all online transactions because it detected a potential breach, likely due to him being part of their network. Whenever our connection dropped, the Fortigate system prompted us to reboot that line. We've decided that blocking the number through Telstra seems to be the best course of action moving forward.

Legally speaking, these callers can contact you up until half past eight in the evening, including Sundays, so it's not quite as straightforward as some may think.
