This number called me earlier claiming to be from Sky, asking for my date of birth, bank details, and sort code, telling me they’d sort out my Sky box renewal and even cut my monthly charges. I quickly told them I’d contact Sky myself to sort it out. They sounded pretty polite though.

Was just called by someone with an Indian accent who said his name was Jason. He claimed my Virgin box was going to be upgraded. I told him I’d ring Virgin directly to check. He just said alright, then ended the call. Total scam, be careful.

I got a call from 03659852362 from some bloke claiming to be from Sky. He said our Sky box needed replacing and started reading out my name, address and postcode. When I asked him to tell me the details instead of me confirming them, he just suddenly ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I had a call from a lady speaking with a thick accent, said her name was Katherine Brown - odd considering she didn’t sound remotely British. She asked what bank I used, saying something about Virgin mobile losing tons of customers and that they were giving out compensation or something. When I said HSBC, she told me the first two numbers of the sort code were ‘40’ and then asked me for the rest. I wasn’t falling for that! As soon as I called her bluff, she just ended the call. Classic scammy behaviour.

Got a call saying our Virgin Media business service needs replacing within a week, and they even scheduled an engineer visit after 11am on 3rd April. The “engineer” was jokingly named Robbie Williams 😂. I started getting wary when he claimed they’d lower our monthly bill but keep everything the same with no price hikes for 2 years. Then he mentioned we wouldn’t get charged if we went over our broadband limit, which seemed odd because our current plan says broadband is unlimited. When he began asking if he could change our details for the new price, I told him flat out I wouldn’t give any bank info and if there were any changes they had to send details in writing, then hung up. Pretty convinced this was a scam. The guy was polite though, had an Asian accent.

Got a call from someone claiming to be SKY. They asked for my date of birth, sort code and account number. I refused to give any details and then the line just went silent!

Earlier today I got a call from a bloke who claimed he was from Virgin Media, saying they could lower our bill by upgrading us. Without really considering it, I ended up giving him our sort code and some other details. I quickly rang Virgin Media afterwards and they confirmed nobody from their team had contacted me and that they’d never ask for info without confirming with a security question first. So, I had to rush to the bank to sort things out and add extra protection.

Got a call from a lady named Christine claiming she was ringing from Sky. She said my Sky Box would stop working in a week and they'd send me a new Q+ box. Then she started asking for my dob and a new address. When I asked for a number to call back to make sure it wasn’t a scam, she just ended the call. Something definitely smells fishy here, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam!

Just got a call from a lady saying Sky needed to update my box and asked if I’d be home on Friday. Then she tried to get my birthdate, but I wasn’t having any of it and told her I wasn’t sharing any details since it sounded like a total scam.
