03459881188 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03459881188 👆 is reported as the official UK Environment Agency Floodline alert service, providing automated flood warnings to subscribers or affected areas. Callers receive urgent alerts about flood risks to help them prepare and stay safe. While mostly legitimate and valued, some find the timing inconvenient, especially calls made during early hours, causing disturbance. The message commonly requests pressing a button to acknowledge receipt, which raises suspicion for some but is part of the service to confirm alert delivery. Not everyone understands how their numbers are registered, leading to confusion and occasional claims of unsolicited calls. Users are advised not to block the number if in flood-prone areas as these warnings can be life-saving. Always verify alerts via official government websites to distinguish genuine calls from potential scams.

Just wanted to say that 0345 988 1188 is definitely the right number for the Environment Agency’s flood alerts. They were calling about potential floods in South Devon, anywhere from the Dart up to the Exe rivers, around the 21st or 22nd of January 2026. So if you’re worried about flooding in that area, that’s the proper number to check with.

Got a call from this number but all I heard was loads of background noise and no one saying anything. Funny enough, I had just received an email about a flood alert. Good job I decided to look it up online. Cheers!

The number was unfamiliar to me, but it turns out it’s a subscription from the Environment Agency. From what I’ve seen in other reviews, you can cancel by signing into your account here: https://www[.]gov[.]uk/sign-up-for-flood-warnings[.] I reckon the call asking you to press 1 seems dodgy these days, but it just keeps buzzing until you respond. I believe it stops after about three tries. Hopefully that info’s useful.

Got a call today from what sounded like the Environment Agency floodline with a warning message. I nearly thought it was legit, but then right at the end it asked me to press 1 to confirm I'd heard it. That really raised my suspicions - if it’s actually real, it’s a bit dodgy how it works. I just hung up and didn’t press any buttons.

You only get called for national flood warnings in the UK if you've signed up for them before, so it’s not like they just randomly ring you.

Getting these alerts about floods is really vital, especially for people like me who live on the bottom floor and rely on a wheelchair because of my disabilities. My bathroom tends to overflow with nasty sewage sometimes, which is awful, but a full flood would be so much worse. So getting these warnings is super important. At first I didn’t realise the number was sending me these messages, so if you get anything from an unknown number like that, don’t just block them - they could be a lifesaver.

This number has been getting on my nerves. It rang me twice in the early hours, once at 3:30 and again at 3:33 am today. Whenever I pick up, there’s just silence - no one speaks or leaves a message. I’m an 80-year-old living on the Isle of Wight, still quite active and healthy.

This is an alert system for folks who live in places prone to flooding, so they can get ready, shut flood barriers and stuff. I know it might be annoying when it rings you at odd hours, but floods don't stick to a schedule. It's a paid service, so it’s likely someone put you on it without you realising.

This is a flood warning message. For those wondering why they ring multiple times, it’s just to be sure you don’t sleep through it and to update you if the flood danger increases. Usually, if you’ve signed up for texts, you’ll get a message too. If there’s a voicemail, you can’t really press 1 to confirm, but it’s a good idea to check your flood alerts instead of dismissing it as junk and risking serious damage.

You've received a recorded message from the Environment Agency.

They issue notifications such as Flood Alerts (the most basic level), Flood Warnings (indicating potential flooding), and Severe Flood Warnings (signalling imminent flooding).

To get these calls, your phone number must be on the Environment Agency's registry.

These messages are purely automated. If you answer and hear a human voice, there's a good chance it’s a scam call with the caller pretending to be from a legitimate source.

This is the Environment Agency Floodline calling. If you’re getting a ring from this number, it’s probably because they’re getting back to you or you’ve signed up for flood warnings and they’re letting you know one’s been released for your region.

Got a call with some automated message about flooding, dunno why tho. Maybe my phone’s set to get alerts, even tho I never signed up for any? Strange.

It’s not a scam, it’s floodline. South Wales is expected to be hit on the 18th, so this is just a heads up.

I’m not certain if it’s the legit floodline or not but they’ve called me a few times now. The recorded message says ‘press 1 to confirm’, which I haven’t done coz it might be a scam. You’d think if it was the real floodline they’d just email or broadcast a message on tv or radio instead of ringing non-stop like this?

Got calls from 0702 and 0707 on Saturday 4th December. Our area code is LA18 4. The number matches the info on our notice board card. So, even tho I didnt answer, I reckon it should be safe.

This number belongs to the national floodline, which notifies you if local rivers or streams are at risk of overflowing. Given that I reside in a region prone to flooding, I consider it a vital service. It’s simply a precautionary measure, not some sort of scam.

Got a flood warning message that sounded pretty legit, but I've never signed up for anything like that. So how did they get my number? Plus, asking me to press 1 to confirm I got the message just seems fishy to me.

Yeah right, "Safe"! Total scam, just like loads of other comments say - it’s definitely the Environment Agency behind it.

If you haven't okayed someone to ring you from a certain number, be wary. Phone scammers have gotten a lot smarter and sneakier, so the area code you see might not be real. When you're unsure, it's best just to ignore the call!

We have never asked to get any flood warnings - our house is on top of a hill anyway! Also, don’t people see they’re supposed to press 1 to confirm they got the message? It’s a typical trick to link you to an expensive phone line. Scammers pretending to be from HMRC, Amazon Prime, TV Licensing and stuff use this all the time.
