I never pick up calls from unknown numbers these days. This one looks suspicious to me, so I’d just block it. Both M&S and HSBC usually send letters if there's any issue with your account.

Got a phone call earlier that I ignored, then checked the number on this site and left a report to help out others who might pick up. I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers, especially if they don’t bother leaving a voicemail.

Got a call from M&S Security right after my card was declined during payment. The woman on the phone had my address and DOB, told me the card was declined because there were suspicious attempts made with it. She even knew the details of my order, including the cost. They've sent me a new card now, and I've already chopped up the old one and bunged it in the bin.

We keep getting letters saying we owe money and warning that if we don’t pay, they’ll add £50 interest every day. We’ve just ignored them, but today another letter turned up, pretending to be from M&S. It said we hadn’t given our bank details for a claim payment, so they’d “try” to send a cheque within 28 days. The person named on the letter has never worked at M&S. Be careful everyone, this is a really sneaky scam.

Got a call from M&S Bank fraud team. They asked for a few security details but already knew about some transactions tried on my card today. I rang the bank afterwards and they confirmed it was them who called.

Some bloke said he was from M&S but the Indian guy on the phone didn’t have a clue about me. He kept asking for all my info, even my credit card number. I told him he should already know who I am since he phoned me, then he just hung up. Watch out, sounds like a scam.

Some bloke claimed he was ringing from Marks and Spencers, saying there’d been a dodgy attempt on my bank account. He knew loads about me like my name and address. The number looked like it was from M&S too. When I wouldn’t give him my card info, he just hung up. I called Marks and Spencers straight away and they said they never got in touch with me. So yeah, definitely a scammer.

I got a call from a bloke with what sounded like an Indian accent, said his name was Napoleon and claimed he was calling from M&S. He spoke to my husband, who doesn’t even have an M&S account, and wanted to 'check' some details. That immediately made me suspicious, so my husband just told him M&S would need to contact us by letter. The guy then asked him to ring back on an M&S number, but we didn’t do that since we’ve heard about that 'open line' scam too. Pretty certain it was just a scam.

Got a call from this number saying they were HSBC Fraud Dept. The person knew the last 4 digits of my card which freaked me out. I told them to just send an email and hung up. Something felt off about the whole thing.

This isnt a legit number, but it looks almost exactly like one youd see on a bank card. Watch out! Its definitely scammers, so block them asap!

It was definitely Marks & Spencer ringing. I didn’t share any details with them, and they told me to ring the number on the back of my card, which ended up being the same number. I called after making a couple of other calls just to be sure. Turns out, they were just verifying a payment I tried to process earlier today for £10, which got declined due to some security flags.

Got a call today 06/05/2020 from someone saying they were with M&S, telling us to keep safe and stay indoors, checking if we’re alright. Said they’d be posting a letter about some changes to their system!! Yeah right, that letter’s going straight in the rubbish bin if it ever turns up.

Got a call from 03459000900 today saying it was M&S. Just a heads up, banks NEVER call you directly. Scammers can fake the number to look legit. Best thing to do is hang up, then after a good while (at least an hour, not a few minutes) check your bank’s number on your statement or official documents. Don’t ever tell them who your bank is, even if they sound really polite and professional. Some scammers are actually really clever. Even if you’re expecting your bank to call, it could still be a scammer just by chance. Stay careful!

Got a call from this number but they used a different name so I didn’t bother continuing the chat. They called me before too and again used the wrong name, then just hung up even tho I said it was the wrong number last time. I’m putting neutral since no real talk happened and I didn’t give out any info.

Got a call from someone called Andrew claiming he was from M&S about a PPI claim. I don’t recall sharing any details but now I’m feeling a bit uneasy about it. Tried contacting M&S myself but couldn’t get through. Really hoping this isn’t some kind of scam. He asked for my DoB and postcode, and I gave them. Fingers crossed I haven’t done something daft.

Somebody rang saying they were from M&S bank about a PPI claim. wouldnt say who gave them my number though. Then they wanted me to answer loads of security questions before giving me any info. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

They say it's M&S Bank calling. But honestly, scammers seem to fake all sorts of bank numbers these days, even the ones savvy people trust. Never hand over any details or agree to anything if someone claims they're from your bank. Instead, jot down what they tell you and ring the official number on your card - but make sure your phone line is free before calling back. Don't wait ages though, there might be a real issue that needs sorting out.

Got a call just now from someone claiming to be Autotrader. They said I'd been billed twice for my ad. I told them I'd ring back later. Had a call like this a couple weeks back, so I knew right away it was a con.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from HSBC about suspicious activity on my card. I cut her off and asked why she was calling from somewhere that didn’t sound like an office - I could hear kids playing in the background. Definitely seems shady, watch out!
