Received an email from some individuals insisting on payment and included this number. Absolutely not, no way!

I recently received an email featuring the same phone number. The sender claimed to be from the Royal Bank of Scotland's Collections Credit Control, asserting that I have outstanding invoices to settle. The email in question originated from RBS IF CC Collections <[email protected]>. I reckon it would be wise to simply block this number and disregard any emails that mention this phone number as a point of contact, as it appears to have no genuine connection to RBS. It's always a good idea to verify the details in an email that catches you off guard!

Today, I got a rather dodgy phone call from this number, purporting to be from the Royal Bank of Scotland. The chap on the other end claimed that I had processed a hefty payment to them and was eager to uncover the reason behind it. I noted down his details and mentioned that I would ring him back after I'd had a moment to investigate. However, upon returning his call, it turned out it was a different kettle of fish entirely - definitely not RBS. When I pressed him for further information about the supposed transaction, he got in quite a tizzy and insisted that the payment had come from another company. Quite the shifty operation, if you ask me!
