I received the same letter and decided to bring the form into my local bank branch to send through their internal post. However, they told me it didn’t actually come from them.

Got a letter claiming to be from my bank asking for my NI number and a signature. I called the number on it, but the phone had this sketchy ringtone, and when I tried to speak to someone, no one picked up. Turns out my bank later told me it was a phishing scam.

Got a letter supposedly from my bank asking me to send my NI number and sign it. I called the number on the letter and it just went straight to some weird, sketchy ringtone! Tried to get someone on the phone but no luck at all. Later, the bank confirmed it was definitely a phishing attempt.

I noticed a charge of over £20 on my phone bill and it claims I was chatting away for a whopping 4 hours and 20 minutes! Honestly, I was just out in the garden slapping some paint on the fence, then popped inside to whip up some lunch and enjoy it. There’s absolutely no way I made that call! BT insists their records are flawless, but I beg to differ!

I received a letter requesting my National Insurance info to verify tax residency, and it had that number on it. My bank is holding onto the letter too. Tried searching the number on Google but found nothing at all.

Got a call from a number saying it was my bank asking for my national insurance info, but no one can seem to figure out who actually owns the number. Bit suspicious really.
