this number rang me claiming to be from hsbc. i asked if i could ring them back before answering any security questions. the guy said he'd note on my account that i'd be calling soon. i then looked up hsbc's real contact, which is 0345 740 4404, and rang them. they said they never called me and don't have 0345 850 0633 in their phone book. i’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

Had to cancel my direct debit with HSBC mortgage team after a surprise £2.5k bill popped up, they said they’d note it down on my account. But nothing was logged, so got a call at 8.50am on a Saturday. Ignored it, but they rang back Monday morning which I picked up this time.
