They called me a couple of times and left a voicemail. When they rang back, a woman with quite a thick accent said she was from Anglian Water. She mixed up my name and address, and even claimed my partner wanted to add their name to my account. I told her I don’t have a partner and that she had the wrong address, but she just kept repeating the same thing over and over. I felt like something was off, so I ended the call. They ring you up if there’s any urgent repairs going on and give you a rough idea of when things will be back to normal. My account number is 143700789. I've received a payment booklet concerning my water charges, but I’m rather baffled by the details. It states that there’s a monthly payment of £23.00 due on the 22nd of February, 2016, followed by another eleven monthly payments up until the 22nd of January, 2017. To give you some context, from the 23rd of November, 2015, to the 7th of January, 2016, I only used 3 cubic metres of water over 46 days. I expected this to be billed as a monthly charge, rather than calculating it for 46 days. Now, regarding the standing charge for water - over a 30-day period, I see the cost daily is 7.92 pence, totaling £2.37, while the foul and surface sewerage charges are calculated at 23.50 pence a day, leading to £7.05. This comes to a total of £18.05. However, Anglian Water has deemed it necessary to spread this over the entire 46-day period, which results in that monthly £23.00 payment. I cannot reconcile this with my understanding of these charges. Moreover, I’m puzzled as to why I received another payment booklet instructing me to pay £1.00 every month from the 22nd of December to the present in 2016. This doesn’t add up for me, and I would appreciate some clarity on the matter.
