Received a call from someone saying they were Virgin Money, but as soon as they started asking for my card details, I knew it was a scam. They kept pushing and just wouldn’t take no for an answer, which was really worrying. Definitely a dodgy bank scammer.

I got a call from someone saying they were from HSBC about suspicious stuff going on with my bank account in Aberdeenshire. The whole thing sounded dodgy from the start. They even told me to use my bank card to verify the 0345 number they gave, which was fishy to say the least. Things didn't really progress and when I questioned them, they started swearing at me. That pretty much confirmed my doubts right there.

I just got a dodgy call from someone pretending to be from HSBC. They said they were looking into a refused payment of £240 at Waitrose. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

A man with a northern accent, sounding way older than the usual caller, rang me claiming to be from HSBC. I quickly told him I never talk about my bank stuff over the phone. I've since blocked the number and let my bank know about it.

Tried calling back a missed call from today 19/10/23 but the number just wouldn’t connect, said it was unreachable or something.

Got a call saying there was suspicious activity on my HSBC account, but it was just a scam trying to fish for my details. Best thing to do is to just end the call straight away. Then, give your bank a ring yourself, check everything’s alright, and maybe get your card cancelled and replaced to be safe.

Received a call claiming there were some dodgy transactions on my HSBC account. They acted like it was urgent and tried to stop me from hanging up when I said I’d rather call the bank myself to check. Didn’t buy it and ended the call. Then I rang the official HSBC number from their website and found out everything was fine. Classic scammers trying to panic you.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HSBC about some "odd activity" on my account. They tried to convince me to approve two payments, but luckily I caught onto it and didn’t go through with it. Definitely sounded like a scam trying to take money from me.

This was totally fishy. I noticed 7 payments taken all at once from a London-based company. While I was checking my HSBC app to figure it out, this number rang me. I felt something was off, so I decided to look up the number online and ended up hanging up. What freaked me out was that the caller actually knew my name and address, which is really concerning.

Got a text claiming to be from HSBC with a ref number to make it seem real. When I rang back, the person on the other end sounded annoyed when I held the phone for a moment, then just hung up. Definitely not how a proper bank should act! Wouldn't trust them at all!
