Phone number ☎️ 03457606060 👆 is reported as the official HSBC Business Banking contact number but is frequently spoofed by scammers. Many callers impersonate HSBC fraud team members, often with Scottish or Indian accents, using names like Gary Roberts or Alan Johnson to falsely claim suspicious transactions or blocked payments, typically involving a “Mr Singh.” These fraudsters attempt to extract sensitive information or security codes, sometimes using cloned numbers to appear legitimate. Genuine HSBC will never ask for full security device details or demand immediate information via unexpected calls. Users are strongly advised to hang up if suspicious, never share personal or banking data, and independently verify calls by contacting HSBC directly using numbers found on official bank statements or the bank’s website. Reporting suspected scams to police and Action Fraud is recommended.

This is real, but HSBC really shouldn’t be texting you and telling you to ring that number - that’s exactly the sort of thing scammers do. They should just tell you to contact the bank directly instead, so you can sort it out more safely without having to click on any number in a message.

Banks usually dont call you directly, scammers can fake the number. Always call back using the number on the back of your card, that way you know its legit. If someone says theyre from your bank just hang up and dont share any info, better safe than sorry.

Got a call from a Barry Gibson, said he was from HSBC, checking up on a £2500 international payment they’d supposedly blocked. He had a Scottish accent which felt a bit off... definitely sounds nothing like a real HSBC call. Do NOT share any bank info with these folks.

This 03457606060 popped up on our home phone the other day. I used this site to look it up since my husband banks with HSBC for business. I asked him if he had rung them earlier in the morning, and he said yes, but only through their automated system. Because this scammer is using the exact number that looks like HSBC’s real one, I’d suggest not sharing any info and just hanging up straight away! Instead, call HSBC from a different phone if you can and make a report.

I received a rather suspicious call from this number earlier today. The individual on the line claimed to be representing HSBC, but their accent was an odd mix of Indian tones heavily laced with an exaggerated British flair. What's more, they were rather vague about the purpose of their call and insisted that I undergo a security verification process first. When they asked me to confirm my full postcode, the one they provided was only half right, which raised my suspicions even further. Clearly, it's a scammer at work!

I got a call from someone saying they were from HSBC about a service the company’s CEO supposedly signed up for. That famous scammer Alan Johnson from the HSBC fraud ring rang me up once more today. First time was back in November, and now he’s back at it again. He was asking for my name, but I told him the cop sitting with me could confirm it. We ended the call, but that stubborn bloke called right back saying pretending to be a police officer is illegal. I just told him that nicking cash from folks’ bank accounts is a far worse crime. I’ve recorded the call and sent it to the police - apparently it’s for their quality and training!

Got a call today from someone saying he was Gary Roberts at HSBC, number 03457606060, same nonsense as before. 03457606060. This one claimed to be from HSBC but it's obviously a spoofed call, like loads of others mentioned here. My partner just called me saying he’s had a couple of calls at his work from this number today. The bloke sounded quite legit but we definitely don’t have an HSBC Business account. The man spoke with an Irish or Scottish accent, saying they were blocking a payment of over £2000 going to India from our account and such. I got the same call at about 3pm today. It’s clearly a scam and it came through on our office line. I’m not even the person authorised to handle online banking stuff, so it defo shouldn’t have reached me. To the person who commented on 31.08.19 saying this number is safe, maybe double check your info first. On HSBC’s fraud prevention page, they explain all sorts of scams and mention phone scams, or ‘vishing’. They warn that scammers can make it look like the call is from a trustworthy number - this is called ‘number spoofing’.

Avoid any interaction with this individual, he's definitely not trustworthy. He pretends to be from HSBC, soliciting verbal permission for a payment destined for India. Stay alert!

Got a call from a guy with a Scottish accent claiming he was verifying a dodgy transaction. Seemed really smart and rattled off all the usual security jargon. I only got wary when he asked for a code from my security token. Rang my bank straight away and they told me good job, it was a scam. The best way to check is to call your bank yourself, get the fraud department number and ring them directly. These scammers can even fake the caller ID to look like it's legit!

My wife got a call from HSBC and she got a bit anxious after finding this site labelling 03457606060 as "dangerous". Honestly, this site can be quite confusing. That number is actually the genuine HSBC contact number. You can even find it on their official site’s contact page [#][#]business.hsbc[###]/en-gb/contact-us. Sure, we might all be annoyed by big banks sometimes but this isn’t one of those cases. If you’re adding info here, please make sure you’ve got the right details before spreading misleading info.

Just had exactly the same call about 10 minutes back. Luckily, I quickly typed the number in while still on the phone and had a look. Saw this info and ended the call immediately.

We didn't get a phone call, but we got a weird bank statement from HSBC, which is odd because we dont bank with them. It says my partner supposedly has £941 in the account. This phone number was given as the contact info. We reckon they're counting on people ringing them to ask about it and then falling for their scam.

Didn't get a call, but we got a strange bank statement from HSCBC (which we don’t even use). It says my partner supposedly has £941 in the account. This phone number is given as contact info. Seems like they're banking on people ringing them to ask about it and fall into some sort of scam.

Just got a phone call from some bloke called Gary Robertson claiming to be from HSBC fraud team about this Mr Singh and £2,500. Sounds exactly like all the other scam stories here. Definitely dodgy scammers if you ask me.

03457606060 This is a total scam. Someone with a Scottish accent phoned me, saying he was Johnson from HSBC. He claimed there was suspicious activity on my account. He told me to check the number showing on my phone against the one on my HSBC statement - clearly they matched. He said some guy called Mr Sing tried to take £2500 out. Then they asked for my online banking username but kept stressing not to give out my security device PIN.

A guy called me with a Scottish accent, saying he was from HSBC’s Fraud Dept. He mentioned our director's full names, DoBs, and even the company bank account number - I’m guessing he got that from Companies House or some invoices. He said he was freezing our account because of a fraud attempt. When I asked for a callback number, he wouldn’t give one. He was polite and didn’t ask for anything right away, but dodged all attempts to prove who he was. Feels like he was setting the scene for a follow-up email or something, probably trying to gain trust first?

Some bloke with a Scottish accent called me saying a foreign payment was stopped and asked to speak with the director. When I asked more questions, he said we’d have to check security first. I asked his name and said I’d ring HSBC myself, and guess what, the call just cut off! Total scam, avoid!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be Adam, sounding Scottish. He said a payment of £2,800 to a Lyle Scott was blocked from our account because it looked dodgy. Then he asked for the fob number from our business banking fob. I said I’d ring back and asked for a case reference, which he gave, but then just hung up suddenly. I’ve contacted HSBC about it, and they know all about this scam. They use the real HSBC number, but they’re counting on you giving them info without double checking.

Some bloke named Gary rang my work saying he was from HSBC. He said we tried to send £2500 to My Singh but it didn’t go through. Glad I looked the number up here before sharing any info. The call didn’t last long after that.

Got a letter dated 12/04/19 sent to "The Directors" saying something was returned because of insufficient funds. The letter was in black and white and showed the number 03457606060 to contact. There was a handwritten signature along with an address on the envelope. Totally a scam, avoid ringing that number or clicking on any links mentioned.

This is a total SCAM - I got caught up in it and have lost £19,000 so far. They tell you to check your caller ID to make sure the number is from HSBC. The number shows up as 03457606060, which is actually HSBC's phone number, but they've faked it. They asked me if I’d approved a payment of £2500 to a Mr Singh and then quizzed me with all sorts of security questions, collecting pieces of info bit by bit. Don't get fooled, just DROP THE CALL!!!

This number rang us today, a bloke named Gary Robertson saying he was with the HSBC fraud dept, trying to verify a transaction on our account. He asked for our login details and security info. Something felt off, so we called our relationship manager straight away and he said it was a scam. When we challenged the caller, just like others have said, he just hung up. Seems they are copying the real HSBC customer service number. The "Safe" remarks above worry me cos this sort of number imitation could easily fool folks!

Some bloke called saying he was Gary Robertson from HSBC, with the number 03457606060. He was trying to confirm some online payment we'd apparently made today. But when our receptionist started asking him a few questions, he just went quiet and hung up. Definitely don’t share any info with calls like this.

Watch out - this is definitely a scam. I got a call from a man with a Scottish accent saying he was from HSBC’s fraud team. They’ve somehow copied HSBC’s main contact number, so it looks legit when they ring you. The story they told me was about a payment to the Bank of India for someone called Mr Singh that supposedly got blocked. Then they asked about a new payment device said to be ordered recently, trying to get you to confirm the transaction. Don’t share any details with them and just hang up straight away.

Honestly, I’m surprised by how many folks are freaking out here. This number is definitely from HSBC! You can find it listed on their site under the telephone banking section for business accounts. I actually grabbed this number straight from a screenshot of my online banking app. It’s totally legit, you can check it out yourself if you’re still doubtful.

On 16/11/18 around 10.25am, a polite man rang claiming to be from HSBC and asked for a 'signature of payees' name'. I replied we have no accounts with that bank and asked who he was after. He then just hung up. I reported the call to our nearby HSBC branch but the woman there didn’t seem bothered at all about it. Not very reassuring if that’s how they treat potential scams. Watch out for this one!
