Got a call from 0345 722 3344 claiming to be Llanederyn post office about a missed parcel. They used my old surname from years ago, which I haven’t gone by in over a decade. Said the parcel was at Highbury and I could either pick it up here in Blackpool or have it sent again. They sent a message and wanted me to open it during the call, but I told them I’d sort it out on my own and ended the call. I’ve since deleted the text.

They didn’t leave any voicemail, which a legit caller usually would to say why they were calling. Two big red flags for me - first, Royal Mail normally leaves a card if a delivery is missed, they don’t ring up. Second, can you really see Royal Mail bothering to phone people, considering all the other stuff they’ve got going on? Not likely at all.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from Royal Mail, showed up as "Lawkholme Lane Drop & Collect Post Office" on my Samsung. Got a call saying my Post Office Travel card got charged twice in Birmingham yesterday, one for £140 and another for £111. The person on the phone started getting annoyed when I said it sounded like a scam. Then they asked if I had another banking app on my phone and tried to get me to open it.
