I rang this number and found out it’s Northumbrian Water. I was trying to report weak water flow, but it turns out they’d already contacted everyone registered for alerts to say they were working on sorting it out. They’d even sent texts before I got a chance to call.

Today I’ve got a couple of calls from the number 03457171100, they said something about being an sms service and told me to press 1. I didn’t bother pressing anything since I had no clue who they were. Is it usual to have to press a button just to get an sms on a landline? Feels kinda odd to me.

I just got a call from someone claiming to be with Northumbria Water's call centre. Not sure if it's legit or a scam. Has anyone else experienced this? Bit suspicious if you ask me.

My brother keeps getting calls from an 0845 number over and over again, and they also leave a message asking him to call back. It's really stressing him out, and I've had to keep telling him just to block it and not answer.

Got a call from some number telling me to check out a text message. I didn't bother, no idea who they were anyway.

Got a call from Northumbrian Water saying they had to shut off the water for some repairs. They told me to keep the tap running till the water came through clear again. Seemed pretty straightforward, nothing dodgy about it.

I got a call saying there was some important message for me, and to press 1 to listen. I looked the number up and it seemed to be from Northumbrian Water, but when I tried to visit their site, my anti-malware blocked it on my computer! Bit suspicious if you ask me...

I got two calls from the same number within about 10 minutes, both times they wanted me to hear a message. No clue who was calling. The calls came at 7:05 and 7:15 pm... maybe they’d been trying to get through all day while I was out.
