Got a letter from Cabot Financial using this number about an old debt from ages ago. Never heard a thing before. Then on 3rd July they sent another letter saying I could clear a £2,200 debt with just £244? Feels like a massive con to me!

Got a robo-call on my landline early this morning (around 8.30) claiming to be Tesco Bank. They used my correct name and title, said the call was for me, and mentioned they'd only ask me to verify some details about my card. First thing they asked was to pick my birth year from four choices, which felt really dodgy. I ended up hanging up. Feels like a phone phishing attempt. If it's really Tesco Bank, they haven’t bothered to ring back even after a few hours.

On 28/11/2016, I got a call from a company asking for me by name. The caller had a strong Indian accent which made it quite hard to understand. They said it was about an account I supposedly had with them, but I’ve never come across them before. They wanted me to confirm my date of birth, middle name, address including postcode, and my marital status. I told them I wouldn’t share any info unless they explained what the call was about, then made it clear I was ending the call. Almost immediately, they just hung up before I could even put the phone down.

While the scammers do attempt to ring me from different numbers, the True Call technology forces them to identify themselves first. Since they rarely do, my phone effectively handles the situation. I keep receiving calls from this number, and they’re always inquiring about a certain Wendy Maggs. Whenever I explain that they've got the wrong number, they get quite pushy, asking for my identity. When I firmly decline to share my details, they promise to take my number off their list, but clearly, they never do. It’s a right nuisance!
