Shortly after, I received a phone call from someone purporting to represent the Co-Op, stating that the other party was looking to lodge a claim against me. When I mentioned that it was indeed a hit-and-run, and expressed my keen interest in discovering the details of the individual involved-especially since I had to cough up my excess-they rather hurriedly retracted their statement, claiming they had merely dialled the wrong number before abruptly ending the call. This individual seemed rather keen to extract information regarding an accident I had experienced. They went on to assert that a third party-whose name they were unable to provide-had accepted responsibility and reported an injury; thus, I was supposedly entitled to some "Level 1 compensation" from their insurance outfit. It felt as though they were almost hoping I had sustained some sort of injury from the incident. I expressed my doubts and requested that they ring me back with the specifics.
