Got added to a scammer’s contact list masquerading as Scottish Widows, which was quite dodgy.

Got a letter from this number but i'm not gonna call back. Says something about Scottish Widows or whatever.

This is pretty much like what others have said. What’s worrying me is we’ve been in contact with ScottishWidows just recently. Could’ve been a problem if I hadn’t spent some time messing about with scams as a hobby. My worry is that there might be a data breach or maybe it’s just a strange coincidence. Anyway, I filled out the form saying the address was correct, along with all the other info - which I didn’t even share with them in the first place.

At first I thought this was a scam but it turns out it’s legit, linked to a really old Scottish Widows policy. The legacy team actually managed to track me down using the electoral register.

I got a letter supposedly from Scottish Widows, but I've never had a policy with them. When I checked their website, the phone number they gave matches, but the PO box address on the letter doesn’t. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

I got a letter from Scottish Widows saying they’d been trying to get in touch with me and needed me to update my info - they wanted stuff like my full name, date of birth, national insurance number, address, phone number and a signature. What’s odd is I’ve never actually taken out a policy with them. The number they gave to call back was 03456109574. Looks like just another scam to me.

Got a letter claiming to be from Scottish Widows with this number on it saying they’d been trying to reach me because I supposedly have a policy with them and have changed address… but I haven’t moved at all! After a bit of searching, the phone number isn’t listed anywhere on the official Scottish Widows site, and the PO box on the form included with the letter isn’t theirs either. The address looks legit and the whole thing seems very convincing, but I’m sure it’s a scam trying to steal my identity.

Got a letter telling me to update the address on my policy, but I’ve never had any policy with Scottish Windows. Plus, the phone number on the letter isn't listed anywhere on their site, so I reckon it's dodgy. I’m going to reach out to Scottish Windows through their official website to check, but I won’t be using any of the info from the letter itself like the phone number, address or QR code.

After I moved house, I got a letter supposedly from Scottish Widows asking for my personal info. Thing is, I’ve never had any policy with them. Plus, the phone number on the letter was different from the one I found on their official website. Feels like a pretty clever scam to me. They wanted me to send back my National Insurance number and dob, which is a massive red flag for identity theft. If you’re unsure, don’t phone the number on the letter - ring the one listed on their genuine site instead.

Got a call from this number about my Scottish Widows pension, they just wanted to confirm my address details. Seems legit, no dodgy stuff going on, just standard procedure really.

I got a letter from Scottish Widows with the phone number 03456109574 on it, asking me to provide all my personal info. When I looked up the number on their official site, I couldn’t find anything matching it. This has happened a few times over the years now, so I’m really starting to think it might be some kind of scam. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Has anyone else had a ring from this number? I’ve been bombarded by it five times over the past three days! Quite the nuisance, I must say!
