Got a call from this number earlier but missed it, so I rang back. It turned out to be FedEx, but I couldn’t get through to a real person because it was just a virtual assistant on the other end. If this is what their customer service is like, I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to sort out any issues with them. Dealing with these automated systems is so annoying! Got a voicemail from some bloke saying he was with FedEx, called himself Patrick. He mentioned a parcel from Italy with a tracking number like 551962457 and asked me to pay £220.31 for customs fees to some dodgy address I couldn’t quite hear. I didn’t know anything about any delivery and it sounded really fishy, so I just ignored it. Feels like a total scam if you ask me.

I’m not expecting any overseas deliveries at all, so I’m just gonna leave it. Not 100% sure it’s a scam, but I’m pretty doubtful, especially since loads of people have looked up the number and said the same kind of thing. I had almost the same thing happen on my wife’s phone. I picked up and the caller was talking in Mandarin, asking for “Mrs Zhang” - which is actually my wife’s name and she’s Chinese. But when I replied in English asking who it was, they just cut the call. Seems dodgy to me, couldn’t be a real FedEx call.

The number +44 345 607 0809 showed up as FedEx when I googled it later. But that can’t be right because the person spoke Mandarin Chinese at the start. I answered the call cos I had the “Whoscall” app on my phone, and it showed “Whoscall: FedEx” before I picked up. But if it was really someone clever from FedEx, why would they hang up straight away when I asked "who's calling" in English?! Seems like these scammers are using tech to fake the caller ID too. Not everyone who gets a call like this actually owes FedEx money, like some comments here say, so watch out!

someone rang me pretending to be from fedex saying my package wasn’t delivered because the recipient hadn’t paid customs fees. they asked for my full bank info so they could take the customs charges from my account. turns out the whole thing was a load of rubbish since the recipient had already paid and got the parcel. i even have the customs receipt to prove it. definitely a scam and i nearly got caught out. really suspicious call, watch out!

I got a dodgy invoice from FedEx as well, and it had this same phone number on it. I haven’t bought anything from them recently, so it set off my alarm bells. I’ve reached out to FedEx’s official website by email to sort things out. Once I get a reply, I’ll update here. If anyone thinks they’re being ripped off, I’d say they should get in touch with Action Fraud either online or on 0300 123 2040.

Got a call earlier today from this number, said there was a parcel coming from Manchester as a present. The bloke called himself George and said he was with FedEx or maybe UPS, I can't remember exactly. He was asking for other phone numbers in the house. I told him I'm not expecting any packages, and then he said if that's the case, he'll just send it back to where it came from. And that was that, conversation ended there.

Avoid giving any of your info to this company! Yesterday, while I was out at work, they rang our landline and my parents picked up. They mentioned my full name and said I had a parcel to be delivered but needed my phone number to update me on the delivery. They also asked for my mum’s number in case I wasn’t home. Unfortunately, my parents gave them both our mobile numbers. This morning, my mum got a missed call from me, but she hadn’t called, and then she got another call claiming to be from the police saying I was in serious trouble. She ended the call immediately. What’s weird is when they ring me, the caller ID shows my mum’s name and number, but if I ring back, it goes to her, and the same happens the other way round. This scam is really sneaky - don’t get caught out like we almost were!

Yesterday afternoon, we got two calls from women claiming to be from UPS. The first one asked for our son’s phone number as there was supposedly an urgent delivery, and the second caller wanted to speak to me. Just got a call from this number pretending to be UPS. They told me they planned to deliver a package tomorrow between 10 and 12. I said I’d be home. I asked who was sending the parcel and what it was, they said some documents and dropped a name I’ve never heard before. Then they asked for my mobile and a family member’s number. I declined and told them they could deliver the parcel without my details and the sender should contact me directly. They just hung up. Seems really dodgy to me. Also, the bloke never gave his own name, only said he was from UPS. Definitely felt like a scam.

Got a letter from Fedex claiming I owe £27.70. Don’t have a clue where this bill is from, and the letter says it’s the Final Warning - they might take legal action if I don’t pay. I got hit with a duty charge from this number, which was rubbish because my item from overseas was under £135 and shouldn’t have any duty fees. They basically altered the purchase amount to slap on a fake duty bill. According to the rules, they’re supposed to send a letter before the package arrives, but I only got it after delivery. Also, if you don’t pay, the parcel gets sent back - so no one’s meant to charge you without your consent. It was all a scam. You can find all the duty tax info online, it’s not hidden at all.
