Seeing other comments, I’m guessing it was Argos (I’ve been getting pushy “call us now!” messages lately). Like some others, I’m on a Debt Management Plan which Argos knows about and is getting payments from.

I've received calls from this number two times daily for an entire week now. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to ring them back after hours, but there was no indication of who they are. i believe its something with argos, i picked up once and since then ive been getting loads of calls every day for like a month now. its some sort of automated system that also tries different numbers to get through. ive even been getting texts telling me to ring them about an account, mostly if ive got money owed or something.

I've received endless texts insisting I urgently need to ring back. I've repeatedly informed them to take my number off their list as there's no one by that name residing here. I've been receiving calls every morning around 8:30 for the past three weeks, apparently from Homebase, asking for some Jacqueline _______. I managed to stay on the line today to ask them to remove my number from their list. The agent was quite apologetic and requested the first line of my address to verify the number. I mean, seriously, as if I'd share that info with someone I’ve never met! When I probed her about what address she had, she mentioned "flat 3", but there aren't any flats in my entire estate. She then went on to inquire if I knew a Jacqueline _______ (the surname escapes me), to which I replied in the negative and promptly hung up. - caller: Allegedly Homebase

Thankfully, my updated phone has the useful feature of blocking all 0345 numbers, though it does keep a record of those pesky callers it prevents from getting through. Each time, my phone informs them they're blocked, yet they persist in calling back, leading me to suspect they’re using some sort of automated dialling system. It’s quite unsettling to consider how relentless and inconsiderate some individuals can be. Best steer clear of these nuisances!

I received an automated scam call, claiming to be from Argos, about some delivery. They went so far as to correctly state my surname. Quite alarming, considering I haven't made any purchases!
