Watch out for this number, total scammers! They ring up pretending to be from Lloyds, saying someone’s been trying to get into your online banking. Then they tell you that you need to update your details with them. After that they start asking for your account number and probably other info as well. Luckily, I got suspicious and hung up before handing over anything. I got more convinced it was dodgy when I found this site later on. Honestly, they sounded so legit that I got tricked by this whole "covid scam" nonsense. They clearly knew about the pandemic stuff and used it to seem trustworthy. They asked me if I made some transactions, X and Y or whatever, which I definitely hadn't. Then they pushed me to download some app named "Wise". They were also fishing for info on my crypto wallet or something. Total scam, watch out!

I managed to speak with someone from Lloyds customer support, who told me it was a scammer using a fake number pretending to be from their fraud team.
They asked stuff like:
- details of a recent transaction
- the balance in my account
- how many accounts I hold with them

Then they said my account had been compromised through a 'Samsung or similar gadget', which made me suspicious and I quickly ended the call. If you ring the number again, it plays exactly the same recordings as the official Lloyds phone system.

Around 6.40 pm on 2nd September, I got a call from someone asking if I was so-and-so. Then he claimed he was Gary from Lloyds. He tried to convince me that I needed to change my bank card and update my info over the phone due to suspicious activity. Oddly, he actually knew the last four digits of my account number! When I told him I couldn’t access my account online, he kept suggesting different ways to try logging in. I started feeling really uneasy, so I said I’d fetch my neighbour. He then said, “Give me a call back when your neighbour’s there,” which was pretty suspicious!

Never pick up calls like this! They claimed to be from Lloyds, saying there was suspicious activity on my account. They said they’d sent a security code to the usual Lloyds number and asked me to read it out. That’s how they managed to steal my cash. I told them straight they were scammers and ended the call.
