Someone was posing as the Halifax fraud team and they had loads of my info so it seemed legit. When I phoned the genuine Halifax, they told me those callers were trying to process payments and needed me to assist.

He got in touch with me and already knew my full name. First time he rang from a hidden number, so I didn’t give out any info. Then he tried again from this number to persuade me, but I said no. Then he started telling me my address, like how does he even know that stuff? That’s just mad 🤪. Still, I didn’t hand over my bank info and he just hung up on me.

Got a call about some BT "voice text" thing from either 03456022160 or 01132888408, told me to ring back. They was askin' for someone with a foreign name. I've since said no to those "BT voice texts". Honestly, don’t see why I should be the one to call them back just to say they got the wrong person.

I got a call from someone pretending to be Halifax saying my card was at risk and for 99p they’d send out a new one. They had an old address on file for me, a place I sometimes stay. A few days earlier, I was told by the post office I needed to pay £1.20 for a redelivery because I missed a parcel, so I paid up and the parcel’s due tomorrow. I can’t shake the feeling these two are somehow linked. Will wait and see if the parcel really turns up. Be careful, people! I’m planning to ring Halifax and report it all.

If it was Gary Clayton from the fraud team I spoke with, he come across as a proper muppet, asking for my old address and bank info. I’ve told the real Halifax about it, and I reckon they might be somewhere near Brighton, but I’m not too sure.

It seems like these scammers somehow got into the giffgaff system because I’d never had spoof calls or messages before I got a new phone. They even faked texts from Halifax and somehow remotely wiped the messages when I was trying to report it.

I got a call from a man and a woman claiming to be from Halifax's Fraud Department, asking me for my security info. They insisted that this number matched the 24-hour banking line on the back of my bank card, which it definitely doesn’t. I’d actually spoken to the real Halifax Fraud Dept just days before, so I knew this wasn’t how they handle things. The moment I told them that, they just hung up.

I received a rather alarming call from this number claiming my debit card had been used at Sainsbury's for a staggering £160! I couldn’t believe it, especially considering the nearest Sainsbury’s is a good 170 miles from where I live in Kintyre! I spoke to a young lady who sounded English, but when I asked her for my card number, she either couldn't or wouldn't provide it. I also requested a detailed account of the transaction, but she was either unable or unwilling to share that information. It turns out this number is supposedly linked to Halifax Fraud, yet given that my account was shut down over two years ago, I'm convinced it's a scam! Stay cautious, everyone!

Said they were from Halifax. Complete rubbish, don’t trust the weird safe messages some people mention. They called saying a bank account I closed ages ago was being used. I hung up, called the bank myself, and everything was fine. Whoever these people are, they must be piecing together info from old statements. Honestly, I hope these nasty scammers get what’s coming to them.

Some idiot pretending to be Halifax called me. Before that, someone had already got into my bank account and started moving money from my savings into my main account. They even asked to raise my overdraft limit to 1200. Luckily, I spotted it in time and contacted Halifax directly to sort out the fraud. If youre unsure about any phone number, NEVER click on links or ring the numbers they give you. Always use the number on the back of YOUR bank card, no exceptions. it doesnt matter what the caller ID or address says. Dont get caught out by scams, stay cautious everyone.

I recently received a rather dubious text purporting to be from Lloyd Bank, claiming that I'd altered my phone number and urging me to verify my identity by providing my personal details. Just like a few others, I got a couple of texts claiming to be from Lloyds Bank. I looked at my online account and even went to the branch to check if my number had been switched, but it hadn’t. They didn’t recognise the number as anything to do with Lloyds. The lady at the branch tried calling and got an automated reply saying it was the fraud line for Lloyds, but that doesn’t guarantee it’s legit. Anyone could have made that message sound real. I didn’t bother doing anything else after that.

got a legit alert for me, saying to phone this number if it wasnt me updating the internet banking phone number - but i didnt call that number. always safer to call the bank using the number on the card to check.

Got a voicemail saying "Your contact number has been updated, remember this is what you use to verify your ID for bank fees" supposedly from Lloyd's Bank. Then they told me to call a number if it wasnt me. Total scam, beware!

‭0345 602 2160‬ - Be careful, if you get a missed call from this number, don't call back. They try to get your bank details like account number, sort code, then your date of birth and finally the last 3 digits on the back of your card. I ended the call when they asked for those 3 digits, instantly realised it was a scam. Better safe than sorry.

Got a text from 03456 022 160 saying my bank had updated my phone number and asking me to confirm if that was right! Problem was, I wasn’t supposed to change it at all, plus I wasn’t doing any phone banking outside their usual office hours. Also noticed the message was dated 24th Feb 20 but I only got it on the 26th. I rang the bank’s official helpline and they confirmed I did the right thing by checking, as they hadn’t changed my number.

It doesn’t really matter if this number is linked to Lloyd's Banking Group or not. Loads of scam artists from overseas use spoofed phone numbers pretending to be banks. If you get a call or message from your bank, pay attention to what they’re saying but don’t say or confirm anything. Just hang up straight away. After that, make sure your line isn’t still connected, then ring your bank using the number on the back of your card or your statement. Just don’t leave it too long or ignore it completely, as there might actually be an issue with your account that needs sorting.

My 93-year-old neighbour got a text saying her phone number was changed and it’s now being used to confirm payments. The message said to call 03456022160 if she didn’t request the change. She was wise enough to see straight away it was dodgy. She rang her bank and BT to report it as a scam and was told not to call that number. Thankfully, she’s quite cautious about random messages like that.

Just updated my number with the bank. Rang from my landline, not my mobile. Got greeted with, "Welcome to the fraud hotline. Enter your account number now." Honestly, avoid this number at all costs, folks.

Called by 03456022160 claiming to be MBNA, saying I needed to change my online banking password. Problem is, I don’t even have an account there! They rang me six times within three minutes. I tried ringing back and it said it was linked to Halifax's fraud department or something like that. On the sixth ring, I picked up and pretty bluntly told them to bugger off. They've been blocked now.

No doubt this is totally the fake fraud dept pretending to be from Halifax. If you use Lloyds banking at all, make sure to call their official number you know and trust to check if any messages or calls are real. They can tell you if it’s a scam or just some phishing nonsense.

I received a rather alarming text stating that my phone number has been altered. It prompted me to get in touch if this wasn’t me, using the number 03456022160. However, I don’t have any accounts with Lloyd’s bank whatsoever! They’ve been bombarding me with calls for the last five minutes straight... so I’ve just blocked them! Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a text from this number saying it was Lloyds Bank telling me my phone number got changed on the 1st of August (it's middle of November now, so yeah, pretty late warning lol). I double-checked and my number’s still the same. Then I looked up the number online and stumbled across this website.

I went straight to my Halifax online account to check and the number was exactly the same as before. Definitely looks like a scam, probably trying to get into my account by tricking me.

I got a rather dodgy text claiming to be from Lloyd's Bank, saying they’d changed my phone number. It instructed me to ring 03456022160 if I hadn’t requested this. Decided to play it safe and called the bank using a different line. They assured me the number mentioned in the message was definitely not affiliated with them and that it was a scam. Just a heads up: if you happen to get a similar text, be extra vigilant!

I’m in the telecom industry, so just a heads up - don’t bother calling or replying to the number mentioned here. Best thing to do is either report it to OFCOM or get in touch with your mobile service provider to block the number. That way, you won’t get any more annoying calls or texts from them. Cheers.
