Yeh, it's certainly M&S Bank's fraud team for credit cards. I noticed there was a payment and another txn that got blocked for a place I hadn’t heard of before. They cancelled my card and sent me a replacement pretty quick. My card was even deleted from my phone’s wallet automatically, which only the bank can manage. I saw some remarks about strong accents on the calls, but honestly, M&S have mostly outsourced their call centres abroad, particularly during weekends or after hours, so that’s not unusual.

I rang the number found on the back of my card to get in touch with the fraud team, just to be sure. They told me everything was legit, so this number is definitely trustworthy.

At first I didn’t really believe this text about some dodgy activity on my card. But when I rang up M&S customer service, turns out they had indeed frozen my card because someone tried to use it fraudulently. They’re sending me a new one now. Moral of the story: always double check these warnings and don’t just blindly click on stuff - better to be safe than sorry!

They’re at it once more, been getting loads of texts after one legit call. Seems like someone’s handing out real customers’ phone numbers to a bunch of scammers. Had a word with them on the phone and told them to stop or they'd be blocked if they keep sending these dodgy messages. DO NOT RING THIS NUMBER BACK or give any info. And those green comments marked as ‘safe’? They’re definitely fake, probably folks trying to hide the truth. Don’t trust any of those green “safe” comments, they’re not genuine at all!

This number isn’t a scam at all. It was a real call from M&S Bank. They told me there were a couple of dodgy attempts to use my credit card, but thankfully they were blocked. At first, I hung up and looked up the number on M&S’s official site. When I rang them back, they went through the usual security checks before explaining the situation. They did ask for my card number so they could verify my identity.

My card got declined last night when I was trying to book flights because they flagged some suspicious activity. I’m with what others have mentioned, it would be better if they told us to ring the number on the card instead of the one they give during the call. Also, the strong Indian accents and the feeling they’re not actually based in the UK makes the whole thing seem a bit dodgy, like a scam. Luckily, everything turned out fine. My card was brand new, only used a couple of times, no issues with the previous card, but now I’m definitely more cautious about using a new one.

Today, I found myself in receipt of a voicemail that claimed to be from M & S, urging me to ring 0345 602 1568 and get in touch with their fraud department. I wasn't entirely convinced that it was genuinely from M & S, so I decided to reach out to customer services using the number printed on the back of my card. They verified that the call from their fraudulent team indeed took place, and even provided me with the precise time of their attempt to contact me. I was relieved I took the precaution to double-check, as there appeared to be some dubious activity on my card, which turned out to be accurate because I hadn’t conducted any transactions linked to the alert.

Much like others have said, I got a call but missed it, then they asked me to call them back on this number. I didn’t feel comfortable giving any personal info straight away since I couldn’t verify if it was legit, so I had to call the number on my card and deal with security from there. It took ages, but since there was a warning my card might have been hacked, it’s probably better for my protection in the end. Still surprised anyone would just hand over their details like that; honestly, not a great look they request it.

I've experienced the same nuisance call as quite a few others have mentioned. Recently, I received what looked like a duplicate letter from M&S bank, urging me to get in touch with their fraud detection team using a specific number. Before making that call, I decided to investigate a bit and came across this website. I took the precaution of ringing the number printed on the reverse of my bank card, which is 0345 900 0900. They validated that the number 0345 6021568 does indeed belong to the M&S fraud team. What a right kerfuffle!

Got a call from the M&S fraud dept. They asked for some security details, like the last letter of my mum's maiden name when they already had the first letter. Said there was something odd on my card. I’d tried to shop online and it got declined. They mentioned the exact transaction I already knew about, just wanted to confirm it was really me and that I still had my card. Was a bit iffy at first but they seemed legit.

Got a call while I was out and looked up the number here before calling back. They asked for a few personal bits to make sure it really was me. I’d tried buying somethin online the night before but my card got declined. They said they noticed some unusual activity on my account. Later in the chat, they mentioned the places and amounts I’d spent earlier today. All in all, seemed legit to me - they never asked for my pin or passwords.

Real number: Got a call from this digits. The lady on the phone had a hard to understand Asian accent and said she was ringing from M&S. I double checked by calling the number on my credit card. Seems like someone tried to use my card fraudulently yesterday, so glad this call caught it in time.

I received a call today, on a Sunday at exactly 4:50 in the afternoon. The caller purported to be from M&S Bank, requesting that I answer some security questions. I opted not to engage and promptly ended the conversation.

Had a call from someone saying they were M&S security. Proper strange guy, kept asking loads of my security info and card stuff. I just hung up straight away. Checked here afterwards, and it seems it was legit, just them trying to confirm it was me setting up Apple Pay. They said I needed to ring customer service to verify, which honestly felt pretty dodgy.

Don’t know if it’s real or not, but it’s really frustrating to see on my most recent TalkTalk bill that the call cost me more than 25p a minute - I was under the impression these calls ought to be free!

Just wanted to share a quick note about this number: It indeed belongs to M&S Security, and I've unfortunately had my card details breached! I've managed to obtain a direct contact line for M&S Security, so I won't be engaging with anyone on this number going forward. The official direct line for M&S Security is 0345 900 0900. I've also updated my contact info by navigating to My Details and Preferences in my account online. Hoping this tidbit is of some assistance to others!

Just to add on to what I said before. I ended up talking to three separate callers and their accents got harder to understand each time. The first person spoke really clearly. By the time I got to the third and most crucial caller, it was so confusing. Like others mentioned, I think info that stressful shouldn't be given by folks with strong accents, especially when there’s background noise, making you ask them to repeat stuff again and again. It’s really awkward.

Got a call from M&S security saying my credit card might have been used fraudulently. I hesitated to give out any info on the phone, but they were quite understanding, insisting it was crucial I got in touch with M&S security team. I checked my account balance, which was normal, then spoke to security who said two dodgy transactions were stopped. It was a new card I’d just got and M&S have since cancelled it. Everything sounded legit, but I won’t be certain until I see my bank statements.

Really think it was a M&S scam. I was suspicious of the call and they told me to ring the number on the back of my card and ask for security. They sounded pretty helpful and managed to stop some dodgy activity on my card. (I say sounded cos my husband made the call for me, I’m quite hard of hearing).

I received a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from M&S, but I chose not to pick up. Just to be on the safe side, I contacted M&S's official customer service and confirmed that it was indeed legitimate; it was their Security Number checking in about card usage. However, I must admit, their accents were quite thick, which made it a bit tricky to grasp what they were saying after being passed along from the main customer service rep!

Looks like it's legit, but on M&S's Fraud Protection page it says "M&S Bank's fraud detection teams only ask for partial info; for instance, they won't ask for your mum's full maiden name or complete date of birth." But that's not what actually happened as they requested my wife's mum's full maiden name and her full dob. We're stuck now - no way are we giving the full details. Sort out your overseas call centre team M&S!

On 30th January 2019 at around 12:15 in the afternoon, I received a call from a woman with an accent that sounded foreign. She claimed to be from M&S security and somehow knew my date of birth, attempting to extract further details. I firmly refused and insisted on verifying her identity. She mentioned she would send me some written confirmation but in the meantime... well, let’s just say I picked up a few new words in English! I tried reaching out to M&S to discuss this further, but sadly, I had no luck. So, I ended up leaving a message.

I probably would have been suspicious of anyone calling from this number if it weren’t for my wife getting a text and a call on her phone, plus two tries to use my card that got refused in the last day. Still, the weird accent on the line and the questions they asked me really felt off.
