I got a number off Lloyds Bank and was told to ring this new one '08005003920'. When I looked up that number it came back as 'Negative', so I'm a bit unsure. Just a heads up to be careful!

Yep, this number is legit and belongs to Lloyds Banking Group, including their fraud team who cover Halifax, MBNA and others. I’ve had calls from them myself and can vouch it’s genuine.

This person claimed that my bank account showed 15 outgoing payments to the same company, each one supposedly withdrawn from my account. I looked into it - not through my phone where I got the call - using my Nationwide card reader and everything was fine, no money had left. Just to be safe I moved most of my cash into a savings account with a different bank. I also blocked the caller on my phone. If you think there’s an issue, banks advise you to ring 159 so you can verify things with them straight away.

Got loads of scam calls from this number. Ended up changing my card because of it. Wouldn’t recommend using this at all.

Honestly, this is legit people - it really is the Lloyds Bank Fraud Dept. I rang them myself because they’d frozen my account after I’d made loads of transactions in a short space of time. They don’t ask for anything dodgy. They’ll just go through a couple of password questions like “what’s the 3rd and 6th letter or number,” but they won’t ask for stuff like the three digits on the back of your card. After the chat, my account was unlocked and working again. So yeah, it’s for real.

Pretty sneaky trick using a real Lloyds phone number. I got a voicemail saying I needed to ring them to confirm some account activity. Instead, I called Lloyds directly through their app and they told me no department would have contacted me like that.

Rest assured, this is a legitimate process. I contact Halifax on a weekly basis to have my card unblocked due to frequent security checks that cause it to be blocked.

Allow me to clarify, everyone. This is by no means a scam, and I am confident in this assertion! My unfortunate experience involved falling prey to a fraudulent scheme where an individual was illegitimately withdrawing funds from my Lloyds bank account. I took immediate action and reported the incident to the designated number provided to me for reporting scams and frauds. Rest assured, this is the authentic number one should contact to reach the fraud department in the United Kingdom.

When I got this number during an online purchase, I freaked out cause a quick google tagged it as a scam. I called anyway, feeling pretty nervous. Then I rang Lloyds who said it wasn’t theirs, which made me more worried. But after they checked the call records, they said it IS their fraud department number, just not listed properly yet. So yeah, it’s legit Lloyds fraud line - no need to stress!

I got this number while trying to sort out something online and freaked out cuz when I looked it up it showed up as a scam. I’d already rung it by then which made me more worried. I even called Lloyds bank and they said the number wasn’t theirs. But after they checked properly, they told me it was actually their fraud department’s line, just not updated in their system yet. So yeah, it’s legit - it really is a Lloyds fraud helpline, so no need to freak out anymore!

Beware of this scam - do not contact the provided number. Lloyds has verified this information, so make sure to use the contact details found on their official website or on the back of your card. It's quite cunning, as the message appeared in the same message thread as a legitimate one about setting up new payments from Lloyds. However, I became suspicious when I noticed it had a different 0345 number. Please be cautious and stay safe.

03456004862 is actually Lloyds' fraud team. The number popped up on the Lloyds app message when my card got blocked because they saw something dodgy. I had to do some security questions with them, they read out the transactions I made to double check, and now my card’s been unblocked.

Got a text asking me to confirm a payment I supposedly made, but I don’t even have a Lloyds bank card, so it’s gotta be a scam. Then another message came through saying they’ll send a security code soon and gave me the number 03453000000 to call when I get it, which I’ve heard is linked to fraud! I’m going to ring Lloyds back on a different number to find out what’s really happening.

After informing "Nigel" about my suspicions regarding his intentions and his attempt to scam me, I was advised to contact this specific number. I had also mentioned to him that I would personally get in touch with Lloyds Bank regarding the matter. Interestingly, this number appeared to be from a legitimate source associated with Lloyds Bank. Please exercise extreme caution in dealing with this situation.

Got an answerphone message that said it was a personal call and used my name, claiming to be from Lloyds fraud team. They wanted me to ring them back. Sorry for my comment on 21/08/19, especially to those who said the number was legit. I spoke to Lloyds fraud team today and they confirmed it's actually a genuine Lloyds bank number used by their fraud department. Seems like different parts of Lloyds might not be aware of the phone numbers others use - I was first told by Lloyds bank this was a 'scam' number, but today they said it’s real. Still, if you get a text from 'Lloyds bank' from a number you don’t know, I'd advise calling a Lloyds number you trust first.

Today I got a message from this number warning about some 'unusual activity on your card, contact us'. Definitely a scam - so looks like the comments saying it’s a legit Lloyds number are actually from the scammers themselves :-( I checked directly with Lloyds using their official helpline (0345 300 0000) and they confirmed it’s #not# a Lloyds number but a fraud attempt. If you get a call or text from 03456004862, just ignore it or ring Lloyds on a safe number you trust instead.

the 0345 number really is from lloyds bank. i got a text from them that actually had my name on it (not just some generic "dear customer") asking me to call about a fraud case and gave a reference number. soon after that my card stopped working. they noticed a dodgy purchase on my debit card. i logged into my account online and saw the weird payment they mentioned. i told them it wasn’t me who did that payment, so they cancelled my card to stop more fraud and sent me a new one.

If you encounter the number 0345 600 4862, please note that it is a reliable number related to preventing fraud in online payments made through Lloyds cards. I experienced this when attempting an online payment and wanted to ensure its authenticity. Initially, I contacted Lloyds directly to confirm the legitimacy before dialing the number. They just wanted to verify that I am the rightful cardholder and wished to proceed with the payment. This is a routine procedure they conduct occasionally, especially for larger payments like mine. After answering some security questions, my payment went smoothly. I must clarify that there are some posts on this page mentioning an 0845... version of the number, which seems to be a fraudulent number.

I recently received a message from the number 0845 600 4862, which included a reference number and instructed me to call them regarding an ongoing fraud investigation. Although I had doubts, I decided to make the call. However, I spoke to a man speaking with an Irish accent who only provided his first name, 'Tom'. He asked for my banking details. Since I had no knowledge of any ongoing investigation, I strongly believe that this could be a scam. As a result, I reported the number to the Action Fraud Police. If you're uncertain about any similar messages or calls, I recommend checking with your own bank branch.

Received a phone call today purportedly from Lloyds Bank, but no information was provided. Contacted Lloyds Bank directly to verify the call and they denied making any such communication. They also confirmed that the fraud team does not use a four-digit number to report incidents. The individuals on the phone had Scottish accents, leading me to believe it was a scam.

I became concerned about the authenticity of this situation. To be sure, I decided to contact the number provided on the back of my debit card first. I received three phone calls from the number 0800 032 7329. The person on the other end of the line asked me to contact Lloyds business banking at 0345 600 4862 and provided me with a reference number. During one of the calls, I had a conversation with an individual claiming to be from Lloyds fraud department. They had a Scottish accent, sounded very professional, and requested sensitive security information such as my bank account number and sort code. Sensing something suspicious, I did not provide them with any information. The person politely advised me to call the number on the back of my card to speak with Lloyds' actual fraud department. When I made that call using a separate phone, Lloyds informed me that they had not attempted to reach me and confirmed that it was indeed a phishing attempt.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Halifax Bank, stating that there was fraudulent activity on my card. I immediately became suspicious and chose not to respond, but instead called the telephone number provided on the back of my card to verify. Halifax confirmed that it was indeed a scam and advised me not to engage. Surprisingly, my home phone rang again this morning for the third time, displaying the same 0845 number. I ended up speaking to a person named "Brian" who insisted on obtaining my details. I firmly informed him that I knew it was a scam and would not provide any information. At first, "Brian" seemed convincing; however, he eventually gave me a different number (0345) to call, which turned out to have a non-functional phone line. I waited for a few minutes before attempting again. Please be warned not to contact these numbers, as they are part of a scam.
