UPDATE - After spending quite a bit of time on the phone, I can now confirm that the letter from Marks and Sparks is indeed legitimate. If anyone is feeling anxious about it, I recommend reaching out to M&S using their UK contact number.

I too have come across a cheque for £98.04, yet I haven't possessed an M&S card in ages. I've flagged it as a possible scam with ActionFraud on 0300 123 2040.

I’ve just had a letter from what claims to be M and S bank, stating that I have a credit balance of £6 awaiting refund. They want me to ring them up to sort it out. Seems dodgy to me since I don’t even have an account with M and S! Definitely feels like a scam.

I put a stop to this number around a month back, yet I've been getting emails urging me to ring them, claiming to be from M & S Bank. It's an absolute joke - they’re definitely not the real deal! Clearly a scam!

I received a message from someone claiming to be from Marks & Spencer, stating that my account is showing a balance in credit and urging me to ring them up with my banking information to sort out a refund. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with M&S! I'm certain this is a fraudulent attempt to harvest personal banking details, so please be cautious, everyone.
