Quite the coincidence, isn't it?3 yearsA caller purporting to be from my bank’s fraud team reached out, claiming that my credit card had been compromised. They insisted they had already cancelled it and would dispatch a replacement. Intriguingly, they asked me to set up Apple Pay on the new card, which required a code they would send via text. However, I still had the original card, making it evident that they probably accessed some compromised site that I'd previously used. To utilise the card, I’d need to provide the code sent to me. Naturally, I told them to jog on! I promptly cancelled my card for good measure. The very next day, I received an identical call, but from a different number.
