I got a text, kinda like the ones banks send asking if a transaction was mine. I answered No and then got told they’d call me or I could ring a number back. A bit later, this number rang me, seemed legit at first. But then it was an automated voice asking for my date of birth so I just ended the call. Had a look on the Co-op bank site and their real fraud line is 03457 212 212, not this dodgy number.

This number is indeed the correct Co-op Bank Fraud hotline. Initially, a transaction did not go through, but it was successful on the second attempt. As a precautionary measure, my card was temporarily blocked and a confirmation text was sent to my mobile phone. Upon contacting Co-op Bank, they provided information regarding the failed transactions. I have just called them again from a different phone and can confirm that it is a legitimate number.

Pretty sure this is a scammer pretending to be from Co-op Bank, trying to trick you into giving info. The calls come from a robotic female voice and they start asking for stuff like your DOB. BE CAREFUL: Don't give out any details if you get a call from this number. Best thing is to just hang up and ignore it. Block the number if possible.

This was a scam pretending to be from the co-op bank, it sounded so convincing. They even had my birth year and the last 4 digits of my card. I told them the birth year to see if they were legit but then quickly ended the call once I suspected a fraud. I got in touch with the co-op bank who checked my account and confirmed no suspicious activity. The call came really early in the morning and totally took me by surprise! The co-op said they never phone customers directly like that!

Actually a proper fraud squad from Co-op. I didn't pick up the first robo-call but got in touch with the bank myself to find out whats going on. Earlier in the day, I had a payment refused after putting in the wrong CVC (bit of forgetfulness). This is for real, it’s the Coop Bank Security check number. When they spot a transaction on your card, they ring you from this number. The call is totally automated, and you just need to say yes or no if the purchase was yours.

This phone number is actually the real Co-op fraud dept. It’s an automated service (pretty simple one at that), so it’s not the same as the one listed on the Co-op site for reporting fraud. I’d made some dodgy looking buys, but I was able to verify they were mine. Seems like a decent security step to me.

This number's absolutely legit from the Coop Bank Fraud team. I got texts on my phone and they even attempted to ring me. I checked online through their chat, and apparently there were transactions over £1000 yesterday, but thankfully they were all just pending, so no money was taken. They cancelled my card straight away and sent me a new one.

Really helpful. Someone tried to use my visa card online without permission. The number and messages looked dodgy, so I called the number on my credit card. I'm glad I did. They've sent me a new card already. Cheers to Co-op!

Seems legit to me. Funny how folks have had mixed feelings about it. They called me once my card got blocked. I called back and got an automated service that recognised the purchases I’d made within the past day.

Yeah, this number is legit from Coop Bank, I looked it up. They called about a security issue because my wife's bank card got used fraudulently in Spain, but we're actually back home in the UK. They've sorted everything now.

I have received four phone calls from the Co-op Bank, referring to a name I am unfamiliar with. Surprisingly, they had my telephone number and the last four digits of a credit card. The caller sounded quite persuasive and did not have a foreign accent. Though it may have been unwise, I called the number back to inquire why they had my information since I do not possess any Co-op banking accounts. They assured me that they would remove my number, but their response seemed dubious. To my dismay, despite blocking their number, I received another call later on. At this point, I strongly suspect that this is some sort of scam.

This morning, I attempted to make a phone transaction but was informed that my card had been blocked. I tried again using a different card and successfully completed the transaction. Later, I used the initially blocked card at an ATM without any issues. Concerned, I visited my bank branch and they confirmed that there were no problems with any of my accounts. Later on, I discovered a message on my mobile phone instructing me to call back at 03454019126. I double-checked with my bank and they assured me that everything was fine and no action was required. However, when I arrived home, there was another message from the same number, urging me to return the call. I am hesitant to contact them as I suspect it may be a fraudulent attempt. I am still unaware of why my first account was blocked and remain suspicious of calling the provided number.

This number is definitely dodgy, they won’t stop calling my 12 year old daughter and none of us in the family has ever had anything to do with a Co-Op account. Best to stay well away from it!

I got a text from this number saying it was the Coop Bank’s Anti-Fraud team, and at first, I wasn’t sure if it was legit. So I called the official bank number I had on file to check and it really was them. Apparently, someone had taken over £200 from my card, but the bank has already refunded £82 and blocked the rest of the payments. Really impressed with how the Coop handled it.

After seeing loads of comments saying this number is legit, I’m not so sure. They just rang my wife, and we’ve never had any sort of co-op account. So what’s the point of them calling us? Feels like a scam to me, probably spoofing the co-op’s number to trick people.

This was legit. It was the Co-Op’s Fraud Prevention crew calling. They asked for some security info but never requested my full PIN or bank details (since they already have those). They went through some transactions on my card from earlier today which I didn’t recognise at all, so they cancelled the card straight away and assured me I’d get the money back for those payments.

I got a call from the Coop about a payment I had just made abroad about an hour before. The service was spot on. It’s a pity they often get a bad rep because of what scammers do. Sometimes it's hard to tell who’s real and who’s trying to trick you.

I got a phone call claiming to be from the Co-op fraud team. The message said something like "we can’t get your info right now, please press any button." I pressed a key and then it asked me to give my phone number. If a call does stuff like that, it's definitely a scam. Check the official website and you’ll see the real message is much simpler - they only ask a straightforward yes/no question, nothing more complicated like that.

At first, I wasn’t sure if the call I got was really from the Co-op bank, so I gave them a ring myself and got connected to their fraud team. Turns out, it was legit - someone had attempted to use my credit card for a transaction. When I asked why they flagged it, they said the purchase didn’t match my normal spending habits! That’s pretty impressive, I must say. Hats off to the Co-op Bank for looking out for me!
