I received a call from individuals claiming to represent HMRC, insisting that there were allegations of tax fraud against me, supposedly on the instructions of the Royal Courts of Justice. They were exceptionally persuasive; I was on the phone for nearly two hours, feeling increasingly anxious as they pressured me to transfer funds. Their demeanor was unsettlingly calm yet menacing, warning me that if I didn’t act immediately, all my assets would be frozen, and that I was at risk of acquiring a criminal record. Thankfully, my bank intervened and halted the transaction, recognising that it was likely a scam. What a dreadful ordeal it turned out to be!

Not real at all. Got a recorded message claimin to be from a bank I’ve never had an account with. Banks usually call you direct, not with these dodgy recordings. Who calls you early on a Sunday and then leaves you hanging on hold for ages? Natwest, that's who. I gave up after 30 minutes. I'm guessing it's about a payment I did yesterday evening that showed as sent but hasn't actually cleared. Got a call claiming to be NatWest Fraud team making sure a big payment to a new account wasn’t dodgy. Gotta say, well done NatWest for this. Just a heads up though, scammers copy this number so don’t just trust any call from it straight away. I rang them back but used a different phone to be safe, and they asked me questions only NatWest would know. Felt a bit more secure after that.

Scam alert - got a text about some dodgy transaction, said they’d ring me from this number. It showed up in my NatWest messages and looked pretty legit, even showed last few digits of my account and included a scam warning. A few minutes later, I got a call from this number.
