The fellow introduced himself as Alex Smith from the Santander Fraud Office and then pretended to transfer me to his supervisor, some bloke named Simon Anderson. They tried to pressure me into using an automated service, but I wasn’t having any of it and promptly ended the call. I then rang the number listed on the back of my debit card and spoke to a fraud prevention officer who confirmed it was all a scam.
