Received a rather alarming call earlier today, claiming to be from HMRC. They insisted that unless we forked out a specific sum of money, my wife would be taken away in cuffs and sentenced to five years in prison. She’s severely disabled, and the thought of her Personal Independence Payment being cut off today was terrifying. I promptly contacted the police, and they assured me it was nothing more than a scam. What a frightening experience!
