I received a call purporting to be from John Lewis regarding a dubious transaction. Concerned, I rang John Lewis directly to verify this, and they assured me it was indeed a scam. The caller introduced himself as James Foster, though I suspect that name is as real as a chocolate teapot. He was oddly aware of my mobile number and where I live, which makes me wonder if he dug up details from some old data breach - possibly from JD Sports? Take my advice: don’t share any personal information! Just hang up and reach out to the number printed on the back of your card instead.

I received a call supposedly from someone representing the John Lewis Partnership card, but it turned out to be a scam. I followed up with John Lewis directly, and confirmed that no legitimate call had come from them. The caller spoke with an English accent and seemed quite convincing, introducing himself as James Foster. Very dodgy!
